Has anyone noticed their rock rails rusting where the IAG setscrews clamp on?

To me mounting method is an advantage for the Archetype steps. I prefer the look of the AIG steps plus they're almost half the price. But for long term I may go with Archetype.

If you buy cheap Chinese made parts this is what happens unfortunately. Stick with steel made from other better countries and the outcome will be better. IAG has gone almost fully outsourced to cheap Chinese parts and it's showing by these numerous threads.

So IAG customer service got back to me this morning and said that they have been having with an external supplier of powder coating and so will be taking it 'in house'...they want to see my steps for further 'examination' and so have asked if I'm open to sending them back...

so sounds like I'll be without steps for a while...which isn't great...especially seeing as though I've paid for them!!!

Its surprising that @IAG Support hasn't chimed in on this thread yet...I have to say that I had no idea that the problem was so widespread...

The same thing happened to me, but they sent out replacements and a prepaid return slip, no time without steps for me, exemplary customer service!

Hey guys,

Sorry to see this. As others have stated in here, we have had some issues with coatings on certain batches of the steps. We stand behind our products 100% and are offering free replacements to owners who have experienced these issues. We've made a significant investment to bring powder coating in house with a state-of-the-art automated system which is currently being installed. We've also made some design changes to the product to make them easier to powder coat for our third party powder coater in the meantime. To the OP @Limpetman, I'll send you a PM to arrange a replacement set be sent out in advance of the return of your old steps. For anyone else experiencing an issue with any IAG product please emails us at [email protected] and we would be happy to assist you in getting this resolved. As always, we appreciate the support of this community and we appreciate your patience as we work to make our products better.

FYI: I had placed the order a few weeks back. After I came across this thread I sent a request to IAG request cancelling my order. They were super nice and quick with response and cancelled the order immediately upon request. Their support is excellent.

Are you sure you're actually a vendor on this site? You didn't respond with animosity or legal threats to the OP and owned the problem, so what gives?!

(Sarcasm, obviously. Good job you guys, this was refreshing to see)
