So I assume you go around making sure the firmware on all your electronics devices it up to date? When was the last time you updated the firmware on your printer for example? What about your IP camera? How often do you upgrade your SQL servers to the latest version?

Hell we just recently got off windows 7 let alone Win 11.

It's not that I don't believe in software updates, but I have no faith in Ford's ability to do it right and as often as they do it. This isn't a Windows PC and our Redhat servers rarely get rebooted and patched.

Believe it or not, but there are electronic devices that don't constantly need to be tinkered with.
A bronco has more sensors involved in the AC fan button on the dash then in a entire home printer. We get it. You don’t update your own devices. Thats great. Why are you trying to convince someone else to do something they dont want to? If someone likes having the latest software, then let them have it. The consequences are their consequences, not yours. They paid for the vehicle.

These are complexe machines with allot more in them then prior generations. The days of a carborated engine, 4spd manual transmission, spring suspension, and a steeering wheel are long gone. Dosnt matter how much you hate it, they arent coming back.

Ford intends for the bronco to work with their latest software. your saying no, do not update. But you have no idea whats in the update. It could be safety related. It could involve a airbag deployment, idk, seat belt tensioners idk, updates to the emergency break system. And your advising people not to take the updates. Let ford make the recommendation for their machines and others can decide for themselves how to best move forward.

and please update your computer OS. Really man. Windows 7…and your trying to hand out software advice like your Bill Gates. Comeon man.

I appreciate the feedback and your opinion. I really do. I was just responding because I made a statement and everyone was jumping on me because I choose to leave my Bronco Bug free.

People act like the only updates are security ones. Yes I'm concerned about security, but most of the updates are about bug fixes and not security fixes. I have no bugs. Everything works, my speed shows up in my navigation, I don't have black screen, My speedometer doesn't double my mileage, etc. I have no "bugs" I wish to fix at this time.

And as for Windows...hey, it's Govt for ya. You don't take a 911 system and just toss an untested Major OS upgrade on computers until the CAD vendor says it is certified for Windows 10 let alone 11 :)

Which reminds me, Mr Bill Gates (Well not really because we know he's no longer the guy) is the one who decided that Windows 11 won't run on a whole bunch of hardware "officially". So we're going to be on windows 10 for a very long time.

I thought I saw somewhere that there should be some sort of icon on the screen when there is a pending update so that you can opt to reschedule it.

Is that accurate?

Yep, it'll be in the top right.

Today I have received my 4th update in the last 3 weeks: 3.5.2, 3.5.3, 3.5.4, and today 22-PU101-MIL-LT. Still no 4.x version.

I wonder if there are more than one revision of hardware that would have different major version numbers, or maybe I will continue to get these upgrades until I finally catch up.

This is strange. So, I did as instructed. It seemed like it did some sort of reset. Changing the days/times for auto updates takes several minutes to register. I’d hit the close button on the confirmation and it would just revert to the old settings. But, if I shut down the ignition and waited a few minutes - it would update on FordPass app and in SYNC.

So, that seemed promising.

But, FordPass app says I’m still up to date with the latest from June 15, 2021 (2.1.1) and the screen says 3.5.2 and “There are no updates ready that require vehicle downtime”

Previous to the reset, the screen still said 2.1.1

So, consider me confused AF.
My Black Diamond is at 3.5.2. That update was October. No updates since then.

I finally got the 4.2.1 update on Thursday. Did you figure out how to get rid of the Vehicle Alert from your original post? It's been two days and it's still there on mine also. I noticed there was an icon on the screen in the bronco with the successful update and thought that needed to be cleared for the alert to clear on the app, but it is still there. Also looking forward to this 4.2.1.2 update in hopes that it fixes the connectivity issues.

Odd. I don't get the update alerts and I have autoupdates enabled. Nor can I see what version the systems is on - maybe I'm not looking in the right area. Not a sync fan.

I never got updates either. Then I disconnected my negative battery terminal to fix another problem (Ford Pass remote start stopped working). It fixed that problem and 2 days later I got updated to 4.2.1.2. No clue what that gave me - but you might try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes or so and reconnecting and see what happens.

Many early JL owners were mad when Jeep took away their off road pages ;) They got them back a few months later though.

And I am sick of having so many updates. I don't mind an update once or twice a year, but WTF I keep receiving updates. The latest on somehow didn't communicate to the app that it updated, so now every time I open the app I get a notice that I need to schedule the update in my Bronco, but the Bronco says there are no updates.

I'm in software by trade, and this just feels amateurish to me, like they released it before it was really ready and now they are constantly updating. And the SW itself in the Bronco feels like what a jr developer would create because they think it is what driver's want even though they've never driven a car. Get rid of the GOAT modes and just let me set my steering, throttle response, etc, and leave it the way I set it. Give me the ability to change the background colors (like my $300 pioneer head unit did back in '12).
Turn off the auto updates.

I guess BRaptors are backlevel - mine is still in 3.5.4 from January. And yes I have automatic updates on and WiFi set up.

Mine updated three days ago. The first time using the bronco with the update. Gmaps had a hard time syncing. Everyone else was fine. The next day it sorted itself out. No issues so far. Back to normal.
