I've looked at many different threads and never seen a direct answer; if setting on the same sized tire and wheel will a non Sas set the same height as sas?

The 2.0 Hoss gets a .67 or 1.1 inch lift (badlands is the lower number, sasquatch is the higher)

I haven't received mine yet but I went non SAS BL. In the end looking at the price for what I was getting didn't make sense. If it wasn't for the BL almost sitting as high and coming with 33's it would have been a no brainer to go with SAS. But when you look a how much you get, I would rather just wait until the stock tires wear out and then do a small lift and 35's, or might just keep it all stock this time (yeah right).

There also have been a few pictures posted on the forum of non SAS BL's that made changed my mind too. Turns out I REALLY like the overall stance of the 2-door regular BL. @3G & 6G posted the picture below and that was a game changer for me:

I dropped my Wildtrak as I needed to get built and that incentive plus all of my Price Protection made getting a 2 door non sas badlands a no brainier. Got scheduled three weeks later and built this week hoping for delivery in 4-6 weeks. I went up and drove a non sas badlands today that my dealer got. Really really nice bone stock. MGV is a winner for my golden retriever and for snow, sand etc.

Short term plans are wheels and painting the grill flat black. TBD 35s. If I do go with the 35s would def stay with BFGs.

Think you would be really happy going this route.

I just put the non-sas Badlands tires and wheels on my base today thanks to a B6G member. Perfect for my needs.

I did an off road event that was set up by Ford for Bronco order holders. This was a year or so before mine was built. This wasn't Off Rodeo, it was a shorter duration, but we still got to do some semi-serious wheeling. The Ford rep that was in the Bronco with me said he couldn't officially confirm nor deny (-cough, cough-) that the only difference in height between a BL 'squatch and BL non-'squatch was caused by the slightly taller tire on the 'squatch. When you do the math on the tires it checks out, too.

In the end, the extra money for just tires and flares didn't make sense to me. My BL non-'squatch has gone everywhere the group I wheel with has gone. It is still way more capable than my bravery level at this point. And - lots of folks here have put on 35's with non-'squatch BL's without clearance issues. I will likely do the same after the BFGs wear out.

@Dover - after our exchange of pics I figured it was this one that sold you. It's one of my favorites... :)

I think I’ve read it’s about 1 1/2” or so lower without SAS.

I think if you’re getting SAS you’re a much more off road enthusiast (freak, and I say that in a good way). Than many.

If that’s your deal then yes SAS.

if it’s the occasional dirt road, camping, beach driving, maybe do a trail run every once in a while, then then the SAS may be money best spent elsewhere ?

I'll add my two cents for whatever that's worth (probably less than that but...).

I originally ordered a loaded Badlands...but I've been waiting since Feb 2021. When the dreaded "remove your constraints or else..." email came I thought long and hard about what I really wanted. I removed the LUX (that was an easy one - I don't care about ACC and from the sounds of it the B&O sound system wasn't anything to write home about. Wireless charging? Meh I don't want to turn my phone into a red hot coal). The heated steering wheel would have been really nice but I’m not going risk further delays over that

Kept the MIC because I'm putting together an offroad/overlanding build and I needed the hard top for the Trailrax rack I'm going to get.

The SAS...well that was an interesting one. I *hate* the stock Badlands wheels. I know a lot of people like them...just not my cup of tea. But at the end of the day I really wanted my Bronco this year (with all the price protections intact). So I reluctantly removed that as well. My salesperson (ever helpful) mentioned that the dealership works with 4wheelparts. He knew I wasn't happy with the stock wheels and told me that if there's something I wanted from there - the dealership could order it in time to meet my Bronco. They'd install it an warranty it just like it came from the factory.

So I started looking on that site and realized that there's a great variety of fantastic wheels that I liked a whole lot better than the SAS wheels (I live in Colorado and I'd say 75%+ of Broncos I see around here have the SAS package).

I'm building a black Bronco anyway (Shadow black and wanted black wheels to match) and decided on the Black Rhino Warthogs and 35" KO2s.

A short time after I made this decision my salesman called me and told me the dealership had a conversation with Ford - and given the number of allocations they had vs number of orders I could have anything I wanted built. After long consideration I decided to leave my order without lux or SAS.

I have a friend with a fully loaded Badlands and he loves it - but verified that the SAS Goodyears chuck rocks at the Bronco like it's their job. Also told me they wear down pretty fast.

At the end of the day my plan is going to be about a wash (notwithstanding my plan to try and sell my stock and unused Badlands wheels/tires). Think about it this way: $2500 for SAS + (if you want to go up to good 35" tires when they wear down...or don't want to wait and give them a good chance to tear up your paint) another $2000 for tires. So that's @$4500 for SAS plus new tires not too long down the road.

My plan - 1" leveling kit plus a crash bar kit that'll fit: I'm guessing @$1000. $2000 for 5 tires. @$1440 for 5 wheels. So all told @4440 (plus tax and labor which will be a bit).

The only thing I'm losing with mine vs SAS is the 4.7 gearing. I'm not ever going to run 37s so I don't care about that.

At the end of the day it's whatever will make sense for you. I'm going to be up in the mountains quite a bit and I'm willing to trade the extra articulation for greater ground clearance (my family has a cabin in the mountains and the extra clearance will help getting in there in the winter).

So ultimately it's whatever works for you - but for me I'd rather have better tires and wheels that suit me (and don't match everyone else around here)

Best part for me is that it’s coming sooner rather than later (got scheduled for April 24 - no idea if removing LUX and SAS helped speed up the process but I’m comfortable with my decision to go the aftermarket route).

Ford Bronco Badlands SAS or Non-SAS ? A8748E0F-CE3A-44D4-87C5-06BB409CBD04
Badlands 7MT with eibach coilovers set at about 2' lift in front with 35x11.5 Toyo at3 on stock wheels at 32psi. The ride is now pillowy soft yet there is no more body roll than stock setup.

Had installed a zone 2.5" lift that destroyed the ride quality of the bilsteins. Do not recommend.

Swaybar disconnect is my most used offroad feature besides 4L. Bumpy medium speed trails are comfortable.

Owned a 4dr v6 badsasquatch which was comfortable but handled like a pig. Not sure how much the heavier engine and transmission

Maybe this video will help one decide to go SAS or non SAS.

Note: Bronco in video is NON-SAS!
