KOH Edition or Bronco Raptor?

Braptor's seem an awful lot like an old school muscle (truck). I get it (except the fenders), but can't say I care (especially for the price).

Why should I want a Braptor over a King of the Hammers Bronco? Or the opposite, why does a KOH give you what you need in lieu of a Braptor?

It really depends on what you want to do with the bronco. Rock crawl. Mall crawl, High-speed desert, etc.

Both are killer, but I’d go with the 2 Dr KOH, because 2 Dr KOH.

Overall, I also think the KOH looks to be more capable with the aftermarket parts listed. Braptor is wider, which is fine in some place, not so much in others.

KOH is also going to be much more expensive and rare, but basically you can take a Badlands, add about $20K worth of mods with particular emphasis on the suspension and you’d have the KOH without all of the cosmetic Livery and badging, which many have already done here.

Waiting to see one built up like the KOH once someone drops in a Coyote, then we’ll be cooking with napalm!

As sick as the Raptor is, I think I'd personally prefer a Wildtrak with ADV fender kit, 37s, and a few other upgrades. I'd come out way ahead on total price and I'd have a ride that was uniquely mine.

Do you want to customize it or have one that is already fully customized with not much to do to it? With that, do you want your own personality into the vehicle or someone lese who decided the course of how it should be?

I do not know the cost of the KOH version but I'm guessing its going to be right up there with the Raptor if not more than MRSP. I think the Raptor will have the edge for sure in performance over the KOH edition.

At least with the KOH you the warranty, service and financing capabilities with it while saving money not going the do it your self route.

Ooh, the Badlands +$20k, that sounds interesting. Not that I look forward to spending that kind of cash, but I have a 23 Badlands and would like to go HOSS 3.0 eventually, if it's possible. Upgrading the steering and suspension short of Fox/Radflos seems economical, but golly gee it's sexy to go full tilt.

Oh yeah, I mean the whole "build me or buy" is an interesting angle. For instance, I almost got a Wildtrak until I saw the MGV/rubberized interior and knew the Badlands was me.

Saying that though, I had the same feeling about the KOH, that I don't have with the Raptor. I'd have to be convinced to get a Raptor, while the KOH already feels like it gets me. If that makes sense.

And y'know, I don't know squat about building my own. The burning rubber you smell is my brain thinking about all those dang options... I want to do any work myself, but it definitely feels intimidating, since I haven't really worked on anything in 20 years.

If you’re wheeling it, you can do better than the HOSS 3.0; that’s basically a stage 3-4 suspension, which is good, but for the cost, I’d go ICON, or you can do your own FOX set up maybe with a few Camburg parts or other billiet parts and don’t forget you’d need to upgrade the steering rack, which the upgraded factory rack is hard to beat and integrate. If you cut from $20K down to maybe $10, that’s a stage 4-6 with a lift and a new rack, give or take a few parts.

Do some research and have some fun!

I'm definitely working through all of it. This thread is really not about my build (a thread I'm already contemplating), I really just wanted to see what others thought of these two options.

I mean, all I really want is a monster that doesn't look like a monster, something really well thought out... Which is probably why I like the KOH.

I like the KOH because it seems obtainable one piece at a time. I’m picking up my Wildtrak in a few days. It has the leather interior, so I’m thinking a little bit down the road, I will put in the rubber flooring with drain plugs.

I figure that the Wildtrak would put me on the door step of something like KOH with upgraded extreme duty steering rack from the factory. Then one piece as a time as budget allows. After only a few years, the Wildtrak will be an absolute Beast….

When I placed my original order (Sep 2021), I didn't know enough about anything to know if the Wildtrak was all that special, it was just (barely) affordable. That was my original intent, was to order it.

Then I saw the Badlands and fell in love (I really just tacked the Sasquatch on because I'd like to off road it).

Now I'm hearing all these people talk about it like it's this great thing, and I wonder a little if it's changed since then.

As I get more knowledgeable, it looks like the Wildtrak is a great base to build off of. I hope you start a thread and share with us your intentions, how you plan to get there, and the journey and joys and pitfalls you find getting there.

Something I do wonder about, is the KOH a build off a base model you bought then customized? LIke you get a Badlands or Wildtrak (or Base MT) and they add to it. It all still seems a bit murky.

In Sept 21, the WT was just a couple creature comforts above a properly speced Base Sasquatch, which could be had for under $43k(list). What's one of these KOH's cost?

Things have definitely changed since then. I mean, what I spec'd out wasn't $43k (it was more like $52k), but it was also mostly standard options compared to my Badsquatch.
