Strange, my manual has never done it and I've warmed it up with keys in my pocket in the house many times.
Yeah I got used to just leaving the keys in it when I first start it to warm up or just leaving the door ajar slightly.

Yep. Ford has us trained to leave the key in the car with it running (or leave the door open) every time we get out of the car for any reason. That's good practice... 🤦🏻‍♂️

The double honk has driving me nuts.

I sometimes start the car, siting there realize there are some water spot or bug splashes I need to get it off the windshield. Go out to get a towel, honk honk!

I also sometimes start the car, pull it out of the garage to load some items in the trunk. honk honk!

Forgot my cell or something inside the house, get off the car to get it real quick, honk honk!

Neighbors walking on the street looking at me like I'm crazy...

I hate modifying car's computer just to give Ford an excuse to void my warranty so I really not wanting to do that. Really hope Ford gives us an option to turn it on or off within the head unit.

It's there to remind you that you are walking away from the vehicle powered on, with the key.
I'd really love to say, how is it possible to not realize your vehicle is running? But I dated someone once that left her car running for a couple hours while she ran an errand. 🤷‍♂️

This post makes me want to see what happens when I exit the vehicle with it running.

I guess I'm a risk taker... We'll see.
I presume Canukistan models play a voice message along the lines of "I'm terribly sorry to bother you eh, but you seem to be leaving with your keys eh"

Let me know.

Double honk seems tied to the doors. Exit vehicle while running and close the door - HONK HONK Leave door open (or even just closed but not fully), no double honk.

That’s how I’m solving it for now. When I have the time I plan to delve into ForScan for the first time to turn it off totally.

We had a guy at wok do the same except it was for the whole work day. Needless to say the poor guy almost ran out of fuel. Never was an issue till cars started to switch to push button start.

On the double honk, should be a simple user select able option in settings. Like where you would adjust the length of time your headlights stay on after exiting, ect.

So I normally don’t fully close the drivers door when I get out and leave her running but, my wife hops in the passenger side and shuts it while I’m doing something outside the car (honk honk - WHY THE PASSENGER DOOR?)
I hate it - 😖 as I’m sure my neighbors do also

Am I the only one that's never had a double honk happen and couldn't care less?
I have only had this happen when I leave the key in the car and its in park and running. I think.

I know if I leave the running car in park with the key in my pocket it doesn't honk.

Yeah I only know this because I have been to lazy to get a new garage door opener so will hop out to close the door when I don't feel like waiting on the app.
