Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my manual transmission. Can you address this issue or should it be reported to Ford customer service?

dealer says they can hear the sound all the way through 6th gear. They said they were waiting to hear from ford and that they would probably have to open it up or replace it. I think with all the problems I have read here, I would like them to open it up and fix the problem than roll the dice on a new one that might just be the same tranny. It only has 80 miles on it.

Not sure how I missed this thread, but sure enough my 2021 big bend has the noise too at 21 degrees this morning; when I parked in garage and started up at 52, no noise. Ford dealer service thus far clueless- what’s a ‘TSB’ they asked…granted it wasn’t a tech on the phone but still.

Got news on mine today. Brought bronco in for TSB a few days ago. Dealership wants to replace my transmission again because they too are not super confident in the TSB, nor am I. I’m okay with it though as this keeps the transmission from being opened. Will probably top it off though with more fluid just to see. Maybe the new transmission will be okay. (This will be my 3rd transmission. 3rd times a charm right??). And if it’s not, we will go from there and potentially try the TSB. I just want it fixed. Hoping that Ford sends a transmission with good synchros now that the problem is well known. Will keep everyone updated.

I'm hesitant to bring mine in because of these ridiculous lead times. Can they get it done in 2 months for sure? I have to have it for Moab on May 1st. But on the other hand should I be taking it on a 2000 mile round trip like this? Then a 5k round trip a month later?

I did some more testing today and I can't make out noise in any gear, only neutral. It did go away once warmed up. So if I want the dealer to be able to hear it I'll have to leave it overnight.

Come on guys and gals, lets get the spreadsheet filled out and most importantly get the transmission build date. There is a link to the instructions on how to find your transmission build date.

The good news is that it’s still drivable even after they inspect and confirm the issue. I brought mine in last week, had to wait a day or two for the transmission tech to be available, who then inspected and confirmed my issue. They released the vehicle back to me while we wait for the ordered parts to arrive. Getting the issue on paper is the best thing you can do at the moment, otherwise they won’t be able to order any TSB parts to resolve it.

Yeah I'm more concerned about the window of the actual repair. After my rock fiasco last year I have no confidence in the dealer to make a repair quickly. What if they find something else once it's cracked open and I have to wait months because it's on back order.

So do I risk driving all over the country like it is and have them crack it open next fall, or do I roll the dice that they'll get it done quickly before summer?
