Listen get that looked at! I had the same issue only to find myself stranded on thr side of the road. Your clutch will burn up. I had to fight my dealership for the warranty with that one. But it sounds like a common issue. Mine is still in the service department waiting for parts
You’re the only failure we’ve heard regarding this issue — are you confident it was caused by the same issue causing grinding noise, and not a bad throw out bearing or something similar?

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my manual transmission. Can you address this issue or should it be reported to Ford customer service?

So I took my ‘22 Badlands in last Friday for the TSB. I told them that it only happens on cold starts when it is 50 degrees or below. They just got to it today. It’s 60 degrees here in Texas. Surprisingly the tech could not replicate the sound. 🙄
I ask them to try again in the morning when it will be 37 degrees.

Tell them drive at low speed 5-10mph in 1st and second air off music and you probably will hear it even after warmed. Move slow on flat ground.

Mine doesn't always occur in neutral, but it does seem to reliably happen when I'm in 2nd at around 20-30mph, coming to a stop sign. When I clutch in, shift into 1st, but keep the clutch all the way in until I come to a complete stop, it seems to grind away until the car comes to a stop.

Mine has had a clutch burning smell 7 or 8 times and for no apparent reason (ie: without fast starts, racing around, leaving the clutch partially depressed while driving, etc.). Not counting my spouses cars, I have only driven manuals since the 70's and never encountered this noise or a burning smell from a clutch.

Well, I just picked my badlands up on Monday. Tuesday morning I started it up only to hear this grinding noise. Dropped it off today at 9am and nobody called me all day. Guess we will see tomorrow. Bad start. I wish I saw this thread before, I would have ran it slow and would have caught it before I paid. Now I just have that bad feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I've had that a couple times too. The plot thickens.

i have complained of this too. Another member dealing with trans noise said his tech discovered oil leaking somewhere behind maybe crank case cover or something? , i cant recall but they had same smell. my dealer kind of shrugged me off when i mentioned the smell claimed it just the new car chemical burning off still after 2500 miles but they saw no leaks. whether its related or not, i had them switch me to full synthetic oil and i have not noticed the smell since, about 3 weeks now. i also put my nose and smell the corner hood seam near mirror and i cant smell burning anymore which i often could after any extended driving or warm up
