I personally don't believe this at all. Town & Country Ford just released a video that the soft top is now more constrained than the hardtop. Kind of crazy two dealers are saying the opposite of each other. Well not really. Lol.
There was a constraint list posted the other day that was around 68% hardtop and soft tops were like 38% so isn’t the lower number more constrained. I don’t remember from the days of tracking constraint %’s

Congratulations Mr Smith, we’ve adjusted your options to maximize the possibility of getting your build this year: ATTACHED IS A PHOTO OF YOUR COMPLETED BUILD. WE WILL EMAIL YOU WHEN SHIPPED 😃

Ship it to me! Coyote, drop a couple axles with some 37’s under it, throw in some seats and a piece of glass. I don’t need tops doors or anything else.

There was a constraint list posted the other day that was around 68% hardtop, meaning 68% of hard tops and soft tops were like 38% so that makes 3 sources that confirm hard is less constrained than soft.
His video is now MIA so ?????

Is this for every order or just for certain dealers?

The same dealers that Ford screwed over with allocations?

Like saying "we'll help you with that long list of orders but they won't get Mic, SAS or tow."

I’m pretty sure now I think about it the lower % is more constrained. It’s been so long since I had seen a constraint list. I couldn’t remember, but I do recall tow and PPF were low percentage’s and they were on the list I saw this week as well.

I just checked YouTube to see if maybe Long McAuthur posted anything. @FordVideoGuy is on the road to the St Louis Auto Show as of five hours ago so he might not even be aware.

I’m pretty sure now I think about it the lower % is more constrained…so that would be false. It’s been so long since I had seen a constraint list. I couldn’t remember, but I do recall tow and PPF were low percentage’s and they were on the list I saw this week as well. That would be why he pulled the video.
Mitch from T&C messed up.

If an item is 100%, then every single Bronco going down the assembly line can have that option. If it’s 4%, then only 1 out of every 25 can have it.

What matters is not the percentage but the percentage compared to the order mix. So if an item is 4% constrained, but only 2% of the order mix… the It is effectively not constrained at all… there is enough for everyone who ordered one.

The hard top is an 85% order mix. So if the constraint is 68%, then a lot of hard top
orders are getting ignored (17% of the order mix). The soft top has a 15% order mix and a 38% constraint. Which means there is enough soft tops for everyone who orders them even though it is “more” of a constraint.

My money is on this if only for builds that OPTIONED on these traits. You can get built if you drop closer to base trim, which allows Ford to get thru all backlog of reservation holders.
Drop closer to your trim baseline (lose these items) and your reservation will mean something.
Hold the line and demand your exact build and you end up waiting to 2024 and essentially becoming a normal retail order at retail price.

No SAS ain’t the end of the world. Nor your bougie Lux. And grow a sack regarding the soft top. Y’all don’t know the fun you’re missing demanding perfection.

Here is the constraint list and it supposedly came from T&C Ford. I know the bottom 4 has always been constraints, so the lower % would be worse, right?

According to Town and Country Bronco, here is the current list of constraints (in order from best to worst):

1. Hardtop (67%)
2. 2.7L Engine (65%)
3. Advanced 4x4 (64%)
4. Front Locker (64%)
5. Tow package (55%)
6. Sasquatch Package (40%)
7. Lux Package (40%)
8. Modular Bumper (36%)
9. Soft Top (33%)
10. 2 Door (17%)
11. Manual Transmission (15%)
12. Brush Guard (15%)
13. PPF (6%)

Yeah it may be specific customers orders that they are asking to change.

That does not tell the whole story.

It is usually a list of two columns with percentages.
One column is "the % we COULD build" like "we could build 15% of production with manuals."
The other column is that months demand ... "only 12% of orders requested manuals"

The math would then be that there is a 3% surplus of manual trannys available.

Hard top example would be..... demand is 67%, but supply is 32% , so MANY (35%) hard top orders will get passed over for selection because they don't have the parts..

EDIT!!!
LOL, like five posts up, sorry didn't see it.

The way I remembered it was if 100 Bronco’s were hard top, 68 could get built (68%), and for every 100 soft tops ordered 38 could get built (38%)….of course the number ordered would be in the 1000’s. Like I said it’s been a while. What is the hard top to soft top mix, it can’t be 85/15? I would think 60/40 which would make the soft top constrained more than hard top using your method.
