Make sure the VIN is correct. Went to license a truck once and noticed one small error in the description. Looked closer and saw the dealership gave me the title to a similar, but different truck.
I'll check for sure in the morning, good point.

Yep gotcha thanks for the reply, but my problems less with it being a station wagon as that's fine from what I know and more it has a "4D" on it meaning 4 door I think. Mines 2 door.
And that's what I get for being up for 36 hrs straight. D'oh.

I was thinking that it could be too, but God only knows with gov documents....it seems every state has a list of abbreviations from their respective dmv but I can't find virginia's.
I missed the part where you said “Body”. I think you’re on the right track that 4D SW indicates a 4 Door Station Wagon.

Update: Looks like the dealership did make the mistake of putting my vehicle in as a 4 door and verified that at the DMV today. Even though it was Friday the 13th lol the DMV was awesome and got it fixed in under 15 min but I'm gonna be billing the dealership for the new title and a new inspection as after looking at the sticker it was 100% not my Vin that they put on there. Hopefully if this happens again this thread can help someone. Last thing, the way I verified it before the DMV was that my GVWR was rated at 6000 on the mistaken title which aligns with a 4 door while it should have been 5700 for a 2 door.

Definitely check that the vin is correct.
I had that happen but after owning a truck for a year. Dealer did everything the first time. Went to renew the plates and the clerk said they couldn’t do it. There was an error a z was supposed to be a 2. My insurance had the proper vin State did not. Was a day of frustration luckily the dealer was close by but what a headache🤦‍♂️.

Its crazy how every state is different, the lady at the DMV literally asked me what I wanted on the title.......like it was dealers choice

Thanks, I did check that stuff as they did make a mistake with the inspection/sending the info to the DMV initially but looks like I got the DMV stuff fixed.....now to get a new inspection sticker with my actual VIN.

In Idaho, when you buy a new vehicle, the new owner takes the paperwork to the DMV and gets it all set up. A few years ago you walked out with a license plate for it too, but that has changed. Now you get a special paper to go in the back window, but it has the plate number on it that you'll eventually get. This is different from other states that I've lived in.

Pretty crazy how every state is different huh? The dealership may have just gotten confused as they are in PA and I am in VA.

Came to this thread on a search... Purchased my 22 4-door in Michigan and received 90-day temp Michigan tags. The temp registration totally said station wagon on it. I live in PA so did the paperwork to register it here and they also questioned the station wagon thing; in PA every SUV I have owned is a "car" in the eyes of the registration. This life is never dull.

Bronco has always been available as a wagon.

I always think it's funny most SUV drivers think they're not driving a station wagon.

Overall the 4Dr part doesn't matter, might be what's in their system. I'd bring up next time you register if it still bothers you.

I've always loved station wagons.

You know what, I'm originally from Philly and like 8 years ago my dad had a 70 Bronco I believe. I asked him about it when all this was going down and he said PA definitely titled it Station Wagon. So I think its literally up to our preference at this point lol
