Any concerns about having this plate mounted up against the painted tailgate surface? I'm going to be installing mine this coming weekend and was wondering if I should put something between them.

So I had originally purchased the Rough Country reinforcement and their crappy powder coat was very rough (almost like bedliner rough) and I had put PPF film on the back of it. When that didn't fit my tailgate, plan b was the hammer built and with how smooth the powdercoat was on it, I had no concerns and bolted it right up.Any concerns about having this plate mounted up against the painted tailgate surface? Where did it hit? Not being a wise-ass, I can't tell?Be careful!!! I opened my gate yesterday and put a nice ding/scratch in my body panel. Who knows what this will cost to get fixed.

Just on the forward side of the tail light.Where did it hit? Not being a wise-ass, I can't tell?
I didn't know a Tailgate could swing out that far? I'll have to check mine. I thought mine only opened to 90 degrees?Just on the forward side of the tail light.
I still don’t know. I know somebody else crushed a tail light. I just opened the gate to get some jackets out of the back and heard the crunch and about threw up.I didn't know a Tailgate could swing out that far? I'll have to check mine. I thought mine only opened to 90 degrees?
Sucks. I just installed the Hammerbuilt brace this past weekend, with the Rotopax just like yours. I purposely opened it up, but it seemed to only open 90 degrees? I didn't try and force it anymore. Could be mine's brand new, maybe the Tailgate hasn't broken in? Hopefully it doesn't !I still don’t know. I know somebody else crushed a tail light. I’m going to go out and check it in a few minutes. I’ve been to mad to look at it since it happened yesterday.Sucks. Still had room to swing, just couldn’t because of my garage wall. You can see in the second pic where it scraped across the light, which knocked it loose, and then into the body. The Bronco had 2200 miles on it, so it’s not broken in. It will swing that far out.Sucks. I just installed the Hammerbuilt brace this past weekend, with the Rotopax just like yours. Would love to see more pics of your bronco. I’m looking to add some take off sas rim and tires real soon.I have a non SAS badlands, that I put SAS wheels/tires on. The stock SAS combo still fits without the extension, though the 3rd brake light is touching the tire. I don't think it's really stressing it though..
I'm not a fan of the way with the extensions the two little rubber feet on the light no longer touch the body, but I might order the extension anyway if I order anything else, like the molle panel.

Didn’t even know this was an option…it should come with the kit..I highly suggest getting the strut they offer that limits the gate swing.
I agree at or highly suggested when you get the accessory mount.Didn’t even know this was an option…it should come with the kit..
