I’m wondering if there are parts or equipment that can be removed to reduce the Bronco curb weight. Purely for on road performance.

I’ve got a 2.7 soft top with 3.73 gearing and pizza cutters. I also got the Ford performance tune so I can peel out in the mall parking lot. (This is known as a joke)

All skids can go.

If you have steel bumpers replace them with plastic or aluminum (not sure any are out yet?).

Remove spare.

Remove seats.

Change to lightweight aftermarket wheels.

Remove front driveshaft if non 4A.

Remove carpet.

Remove doors.

Are you making a street legal vehicle or are all options on the table?

You can also grab a catback, single exit exhaust.

Full stripper. Seats, doors, roof (lower CG), fenders/quarter panels, bumpers, spare tire, and everything not bolted to the interior. The biggest difference will be felt in unsprung mass, and you're already partway there with pizza cutters and lighter wheels will help as well. Next most extreme would be front driveshafts, transfer case, a/c compressor, smaller battery, and a lightened driveshaft. I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are the standard track rat things.

You could throw out the Wife and kids.
Owning half a Bronco after the divorce will certainly cut weight, but seems a bit extreme. 😂

I think once you’re done taking weight off the truck you could go further still. Technically you don’t need both kidneys.

Haters can hate but my Black Diamond will be my families DD until the wife gets her new vehicle in a year. So I'm removing the Skid plates until I take it off road. Same reason I didn't get Sasquatch. BD is capable enough for my needs once my wife doesn't care about it smelling like fish and dogs 😒

Though she is my excuse to buy running boards so I'm thankful too 🤣

Can you weigh those skid plates once removed? I’m curious.

I think I found somewhere they weigh about 70 lbs. But I'll set a reminder for when I pick it up next month. Idk if it'll help with mpg but it's worth a shot.

It can’t hurt MPG. It’ll be interesting to see what happens. Thanks.

Only let a jockey drive the Bronco. There is a mass in play reason why The Rock does not race Thoroghbreds.

Oh and run around with one enough fuel to get to the next gas station. Every 10 gallons of Petrol equals 60 pounds. A d get rid of that 7th quart of of factory fill oil even before first change where they are only going to put back in 6. With the right snake oil you can run with no oil. I once watched a video of it.
