Your profile and your response indicates that you have a 4-dr OBX 2.7L ST with open rear diff.I’m wondering if there are parts or equipment that can be removed to reduce the Bronco curb weight. Purely for on road performance.
I’ve got a 2.7 soft top with 3.73 gearing and pizza cutters. I also got the Ford performance tune so I can peel out in the mall parking lot. (This is known as a joke)
[If, as an off road Bronco person you are offended by this thread, please vent in a DM. Lets keep the thread clean!]
It already comes with plastic bumpers and no bash plates. The front plastic skid plate isn't going to save much weight if you remove it. It probably provides more of a benefit in aerodynamics on the underside.
You can eliminate the spare (keep a plug kit/compressor/fix-a-flat). You can also find a lighter wheel than the OEM OBX wheels. When the Dueler tires wear out, look for a P-rated A/T tire with an emphasis on weight savings.
Next, you can delete the rear seat if you don't have passengers. Ditch the ST as it weighs over 100 lbs. If you don't need the doors, then ditch them.
If you want additional weight savings, you could swap the fuel tank for the 2-dr's tank. That will save you the extra weight of fuel that you are toting around along with the material weight savings.
If you were concerned with weight savings, you should have went with the 2.3L.
