Manual transmission scraping noise / grinding sound

I called my dealer and their 'transmission specialist' is out for 2 weeks, so I have an appointment on Jan 17th. I'll be dropping it off the night before (at their request) so they can confirm the issue in the morning as it will be below 50 degrees. Once confirmed, they will then order the parts and schedule an appointment. If they determine that I shouldn't drive it, then they will give me a loaner.

Has anyone been told it's causing damage? Not real happy that it could be 2-3 months before it's repaired if it could be doing damage.

I thought someone in this thread mentioned experimenting with this on a tilt.

I did that this morning, just using the slight slope on my driveway apron.

Guess what, when the rear was tilted down, the noise stopped.

Anyone have a chance to perform this test, please do and report back.

I had posted that, however last night I parked in the same spot, and this morning I heard the same noise that we usually hear. The night before that, cold start and zero nose.
I am not sure how this happened: basically same spot, position, and approximately Same temperatures..

Service manager finally called me back after a couple of days. My bronco was in 3 weeks ago for noise. Which was deemed normal from ford. And now with the TSB. The transmission tech verified that it is the noise with the TSB. They are ordering the parts and are going to schedule it fore the fix when the parts get here. Not sure when that is yet.

Called my local dealership to book a service appointment and I was told there is a year long wait list for transmission repairs. Anyone here if ford is going to make an official recall on this issue? I can’t wait a year for this issue to be fixed. What’s going on @Ford Motor Company ?

Lol @ that dealership for telling you that. How is it that I have a service appointment to execute the latest TSB on the 27th, and they can tell you one year? .

SMH, I have a planned appointment to get the issue at least documented, present the TSB and get Full Synthetic swap on the oil. I have just under 2200 miles. Been making the grinding noise since get go more now that it's 20s. 3 months is unacceptable a year tho... And who is provinding a vehicle?

Dealership won’t even take a look at my vehicle until end of next year. There transmission repair department is apparently overwhelmed with work. I’m going to call other dealerships but so far it’s the same story or I get shit customer service over the phone.

Parked at a sideway tilt. Left higher than right. No noise idling.

This is an indication that there is a lube issue with the transmission components towards the direction that gears 5 and 6 are positioned. I will try and park mine again in the same spot and will update tomorrow.

That's my exact story too. Ford told them to say: "Normal characteristic of the vehicle" ... but now they are doing the TSB 3 weeks later
