Hacked my way through removing Outer Banks crash bars. Hope it helps. EDIT. Used 15mm to remove bolts. Only loosen top bolt head, bottom lock nut is welded on.

I love your creativity and tenacity! I often have to utilize alternative techniques for modding my Bronco!

If plan ‘A’ doesn’t work (it rarely does in my case), then improvise for plan ‘B’ and get it done!

I probably wouldn't recommend as a breaker bar, but the fan down rod worked for me. I will say it was quite the job trying to remove bolts with tires on and regular socket. But hey, I got it done.

You got this Mike!! Good job on the DIY. Every job you get a little bit more experience, and sometimes build up your set of tools a little too. I do the exact same thing with my cheater bars. I have a simple pipe that I slip on a ratchet for tight spaces, and then I also have a long pipe for more torque where space allows.
