This.

And to add, 4L is absolutely only for low traction, low speed off road situations. Think scrambling for traction, or in mud, etc.
Wait, wut, I thought it was for the holeshot!

Been driving Bronco for about a week or so, and usually drive in 2H. But tried 4H and didn't really notice much of a difference (dry normal conditions). Curious if most are driving normally with 4 wheel, or two wheel?

I sure as heck hope you noticed you were in 4h when on dry pavement. You should hear your rear tire skipping when doing sharper turns. Stressing your axels. I think we are getting trolled

NO 4H on pavement, even in the rain, since you don't have Auto4H just don't do it. It would have to be hydroplaning conditions, and even then, I'd just slow down before that going into 4WD; you do have traction control.

Let's not be tooooo harsh here folks.
I worked with a woman, college educated, knew her stuff, had an Isuzu Trooper and she sought my advice at the office. Seems she would put it in 4WD when it was snowy, made no difernece. Sure enough, her hubs were unlocked so I helpfully turned the little knob and voila she has her 4 WD!
Not so fast. Her husband found out what I had done, turned the hubs off, and admonished her that the salesman had told him to never drive around with the hubs locked. We know that the guy meant "not all summer long" but all he heard was "don't"
People have questions, We have the wisdumb. That's why the questions get asked.

4H is for off road only, unless you're in snow on the highway. 4auto, if you have it, is for slick road surfaces. 4H is off road only. Did we say that 4H is for off road only? :)
DEPENDS HOW HIGH THE SNOW BANKS ARE ON YOUR ROAD..........

Are you referring to 4H or 4A?

If regular sober people aren't falling down, or walking funny in order to stay upright, you don't need 4wd. It's easy to remember.

Can you walk across the street in the rain without a high probability of falling down? Don't need 4wd.

Is the mud/snow/sand so hard to walk in you look like you're wearing clown shoes? 4wd might help.

Perfect. Glad I asked. 2H, unless I need extra traction on trails or wet pavement. No 4A on my OBX.
Do not use 4H on "wet pavement." Vehicle tires (as long as they have tread) will still have high grip even in the wet. It's why cars aren't just sliding around in water as if it's ice. It will still hurt your drivetrain.

Deep snow and ice is a different story, though.

On road driving in normal weather always in 2H.

On normal roads during inclement weather I use slippery goat mode which outs me in 4H

Easy peasy.

I don't have 4A.
