Rough country rock lights

Anybody install them that has the accessory switches? How did you wire them? The harness is made for their switch and I can't seem to figure out how to modify it to work.

Yea I have on a couple of Broncos, the lights have a pig tail that clip into the harness that comes with the kit. I clipped the harness on then cut off the remainder of the harness. Then wired the positive to six switch wire and grounded the ground. Hard to explain. If you post a pic of the harness laid out I can mark where I cut it.

That’s for my ditch lights, but cutting the harness and wiring to the aux switch is same idea as I did there. Also I have a 20” light bar same thing by cutting the harness.

How did you end up gettting this to work? What’s hooked up to your aux switch? I thought it would be simple like my other aux switch hookups, but I’m getting no power.

This! I just cut the harness right at the relay and then connected to the Aux wiring at the fuse box.

Which wire on the truck are you connecting it to? If you're connecting to the factory wire in the front, near the hood latch, you have to find that same wire near the wires by the fuse box and connect it to the correlating wire for the Aux switch.

That wire near the radiator is not powered until you connect it to a powered wire near the fuse box.

That’s exactly what I did- snipped the harness and then black to ground and red to my aux 5 (blue w orange stripe). Super simple right? Nothing…It’s driving me crazy. I have 3 other aux hooked up that work just fine and easy to hook up. And no- not using/trying the purple one up front.

Hmmm..... Not sure what else to suggest besides the obvious of checking the fuse and ensuring that your connections are good. I used heat shrink butt connectors and a couple of times that despite crimping the connector and then heat shrinking, the leads slipped out and the wires weren't actually connected.

Thanks for the help . Yep checked the fuse, and good connections everywhere. Tried connecting to other aux lines too. I'm stumped.

Just checking - you do have Key On right?

Also, check the light just by taking it straight to the battery - can just touch it to positive terminal and make sure it comes on.

I hate those crimp butt splices, unless you have the proper tool for them (and high quality splices) they are mostly junk. I usually end up soldering for wire splices, but I admit I've used Wagos as well for connections where I want to be able to disconnect. I should use Deutsch connectors, and I have a set, just been lazy and the wagos seem to do well in non-weather areas once they are taped up.
