ha! if you were local I could build another, hard part is the materials and time into it does not make for a very cost effective solution.
Made the sensor mounts for the outer 2 sensors last night.

next up inner sensors mounts and frame reinforcement.
Nonsense. I smell a successful side hustle coming, and a slow transition to self-employment long term. ;)

Do it. You won’t regret it. 😁

It my back up plan, but I love what I do and enjoy fabrication as a hobby, if it was day in day out I bet I would get bored of it.

JCR makes a camera relocation that fits on the fairlead along with an extended harness. I’d look into doing something similar to that.

I have a JCR mount in the mail. 😁

also ordered a cable and hose extension to see about making my own mount.

I don’t mind taking a road trip up to Washington 😏

Which width tray did you use? I like this idea and it looks like something I'd like to slap on when going off-roading but remove when mall crawling. Am going to try to replicate your mounting setup while keeping the capable bumper installed.

Excellent work!

I went with the wider one, and dove tailed the edges. It helps span the frame rails and provide more strength.

Might be easy to make something work with the stock bumper, just might need some fiddling for the inner sensors if you have those.

I saw one guy use the rough country mount for the capable bumper.

Nice work! If you were willing to cut into the grill and the cross brace behind where you placed the winch, how much further back do you think the winch could be mounted? I was wondering if that would help the approach angle and the camera view blockage.

I ordered my rig with the capable bumper to gain fog lights knowing I would build one when the rig arrived.

Im no pro fabricator but this is what I came up with.

set out to make the winch mount strong and not block the ACC. Started by placing the winch and a Barnes 4wd winch plate.

3EC6F8AC-E693-424C-B36E-79CBAE15547F.jpeg

then I worked on the mounts with some 3/8 plate

B9DB9304-BC09-470A-BF92-97D9CE02491F.jpeg

next up was attachment, used some 5” C channel to tie the plate in to the mounts. Also

Then I started adding some tube and reinforcements

Fast forward to lots of welding later and I painted

installed.

Next plans are to relocate the control box and camera. Then make permanent mounts for the sensors. They are just hot glued in place so I can test locations for a few days before fabbing some mounts.

also have the LOD frame tie in plates to install and will replace the factory hardware with some grade 8 nuts and bolts. (Gotta see if I can drill the 4th hole on the frame too for the tow hooks.)

Thanks!
Looks like you've got some good tools to get the job done even if not a full fab shop.

Love your work! Curious how many times you've used a tube bender as your sides are very consistent, certainly not the work of a first timer!

Maybe I'll see your rig around some day and get to check it out in person (y)

I very much considered that! The winch is touching the grill now. realistically could pick up 1-2 inches before you getting into the active grill shutters ( I wanted to keep those intact)

also I with as high as this mount is, its well out of the approach from most obstacles, I don't expect it to be much issue at all.

Thanks! a few strategic tool purchases have made a big difference. (portaband) hope to see you around too, Im on the PNW broncos FB page also and plan to make a few events.

This is my 4th project with my bender. the Rouge fab is excellent for repeatability

My main project was building my explorer for Moab (since the bronco was delayed so much)

and a rear bumper for my F150

Watching as well… may have to copy yours, since I can’t seem to find time to come up with my own. Besides, I could always say I had it engineered… 😉

hahaha! I like that. I don't think its going any where but certainly have not done any FEA on the bumper.

Nice work! I'll look into their bender. I've always used a 14" steel wheel and heat. Let's say the results aren't always mirrored, but they have character.

I'm not on any social media but will have to figure out something once my MY21 allocation arrives in order to find some local drives and events.

She's a beaut of a rig you got there, and nice work on Project Exploder!

Made some more progress tonight, got the sensor brackets all done and relocated the control pack for the winch under the hood for a bit more air flow
