I ordered my rig with the capable bumper to gain fog lights knowing I would build one when the rig arrived.

Im no pro fabricator but this is what I came up with.

set out to make the winch mount strong and not block the ACC. Started by placing the winch and a Barnes 4wd winch plate.

then I worked on the mounts with some 3/8 plate

next up was attachment, used some 5” C channel to tie the plate in to the mounts. Also

Then I started adding some tube and reinforcements

Fast forward to lots of welding later and I painted

installed.

Next plans are to relocate the control box and camera. Then make permanent mounts for the sensors. They are just hot glued in place so I can test locations for a few days before fabbing some mounts.

also have the LOD frame tie in plates to install and will replace the factory hardware with some grade 8 nuts and bolts. (Gotta see if I can drill the 4th hole on the frame too for the tow hooks.)

Thanks!

Claims he’s not a pro fabricator, but then proceeds to fab a prototype like a pro fabricator. Well played, my friend. Well played! 👏

Seriously, though, nice work!

1.75 x0.120 DoM tube. It’s the only die I have for my bender.

excited to see what you have planned for a rear bumper. Im on to rock sliders next.

then I will get to a rear bumper.

thanks! I bought my welder from a pawn shop 10 years ago now and it has been so helpful for many projects.

You’re welcome. I’m bookmarking this thread so I can throw out the link the next time another bozo complains that no “REAL” mods (e.g., welding, fabrication) ever get documented on this site. 😁;)

In fairness, 98% of mods on B6G involve double-sided tape. :p

Good job @Mikerider (y)

@Mikerider can you please add me to the waitlist for when these become available for purchase 😊
ha! if you were local I could build another, hard part is the materials and time into it does not make for a very cost effective solution.
