We finally got our Bronco last week (day 2 res) and we love it. But I do have some lingering questions from the purchase process:
  1. We received a total price protection rebate of $825. The dealership told me that's all the certificates showed in the system. I asked if that included the rebate for the modular bumper. He restated that's all the certificates showed in the system. I ordered a Black Diamond 2.7 4-door with hard top and chose the modular bumper. Is $825 the correct price protection amount? I contacted Ford directly via chat and they said I would have to contact the dealer - Ford itself could not provide that information to me. The dealer did not show me the actual price protection certificates at the time of purchase but assured me it would be "illegal" for them to keep any rebates due me. Great, fine, but can you at least show me the documentation that shows my actual rebate amount for my own peace of mind? Apparently, no.

  2. I asked the dealer how to get my $100 reservation deposit back (it wasn't applied to my purchase price). Are those even refundable? The dealer told me he's never once seen one rebated to a purchasing customer.

  3. When are my Ford points supposed to show up? I received an email saying I have zero points. I don't see anything under my Ford account that shows a points balance.
I also asked questions 2 and 3 to the customer service rep in our chat but after asking me to wait they simply ended the chat session and gave me a satisfaction survey to respond to. 🤬

1 - I don't think there is any relationship between $825 and the modular bumper. My wildtrak rebate was $625. I can't find the table but there was table showing all the rebate amounts. I will post it when I find it.

Found it

1. Price protection amount for a carryover MY21 to MY22 BD 4 door is correct. I don't know if you got hit with the MY22.5 pricing increase on your order but you are able to call the Ford Bronco hotline for that info. Seems like they have the more specialized info vs the chat people

Edit. More specifically, the rebate was supposed to cover the cost of the actual MY price increase as well as adding the bumper back in if you wanted it. There was no additional rebate for the bumper.

2. Our dealership applied deposits to the purchase price / money down. The dealer holds that money, not Ford so they can absolutely refund it or apply it to your price.

3. Points typically show up in a few days.

Right, so $825 should cover the total of the year-to-year price increases as well as the modular bumper, correct?

So the dealership is either ignorant or dishonest. Great. Yeah, yeah, it's $100 compared to a $50k vehicle purchase, but in my world $100 is still worth something.

The dealer has the $100. Mine gave it back as a check.

Correct. If you opted for the modular bumper you broke even compared to MY21. If you did not opt for the bumper you pocketed a few extra bucks compared to MY21.

Why not both?

$100 is close to a tank of gas now so you should def fight for it.

The $825 was from MY21 to MY22 right? What about the PP for MY22 to 22.5? I think it was an even larger increase. On my OBX, the dealer invoiced me $1350 less than MY22.5 sticker

  • $100 rez sent as a check from deal inside of two weeks after delivery

I picked mine up yesterday and kind of had the same problems. Luckily, my sales person worked with me through the process.

The $825 was the first MY'22 protection and was shown on my pricing as a credit.

The $1,750 MY'22.5 protection is where things got weird. They were receiving checks after the fact and mailing them out to customers. Since I was Z Plan, they rolled it into the paperwork and they took the hit and are waiting for the check... still not sure how it shows in their system

My $100 deposit was refunded from Ford through points.

I also got the bumper but it was added as an accessory in the total price. I can't remember which switch dropped it, but it came off the overall advertised price (if I remember correctly). When I added it back in it equaled my original quote from my '21 res.

Not sure if this helps, but hopefully you will be getting a check as long as you didn't change anything within Ford's parameters along the way, which would be major changes that cost more. Downgrading doesn't affect the protection from what I've read.

I put together the misc. stuff that I found from the boards and sent it to my dealer. Not sure if it helped...

All said and done, hopefully you will be receiving the check for the second protection

So that is the MY 2021 to MY2022 it appears. What about the MY22 to 22.5 for those that placed an order prior to 3/19/21? Just curious? So where did the $825 mentioned above come into play. I could see where all the PI's could get confusing.

look at post #2
Thanks...sorry misread. That is the MY22 -22.5. I need to look back, I was thinking mine was $1350 less but according to that it was $1500 less. I may have been mistaken, I was trying to recall from when we completed the transaction. Either way, I didn't have to provide anything and it matched what was on my Dora when I ordered.

If you did deposit on credit card, just do a chargeback If they don’t bend. They should apply deposit to sale. That’s why it’s called a deposit not a fee.
