Bass knob location for subs

Where is everyone Putting their bass knob? Mine is hanging just above the wireless phone charger, but the red LED on it is blinding at night, so I need a new spot. Also, is it possible to swap the knob for one without an LED light on it? Thanks!

Should just be a simple rotary knob. No reason you can just swap it out. In the before times, i’da told you to pick one up at Radio Shack, but you’re probably best off with Amazon these days.

I haven't worked out exactly where to put my bass knob yet. Still waiting on my parts and then need to find time for the install. However, I did have the same problem as OP. In another vehicle the LED for the bass control being way too bright. I just disassembled the controller and colored the led with black sharpie. Still glows, but now muted so as not to be distracting.

I ended up mounting my bass knob within the center console structure. Have the knob shaft sticking through a hole drilled through driver side of the window switches. Very convenient location for operation and got rid on the light. Mounted knob unit with a good double-sided tape, and had to get creative extending the knob shaft with a ballpoint pen. Exchanged the knob with a nicer one from some other stuff I had in the house.

Mine's on the door side of my driver's seat (underseat sub). But if it's just the bright light bothering you a dab from a black sharpie makes a great dimmer.

What remote turn on power source are you all using for the amp?

I 3M taped mine under the hvac controls above the console tray, it’s hidden by my garage door fob. Soft blue led matches the other ambient blue led’s.

Yes it was pulled.

That’s where my trailer brake knob is going when/if I ever install it. For now my bass knob is right next to the sub lol! I got lazy after running the other 4 wires and said Not today. Someday I’ll find a spot I do like near the headlight idea.

I used the remote wire from a kicker adapter thing. I bought the kit #1 from plugnplay kits. Top notch harness just unplug stock harness and plug the harness in line.
