THAT brings back memories! Haven't done a valve adjustment in years... or replaced valve cover gaskets, or cleaned out an idle jet, or a hundred other little things we did to our 'dubs to keep em purring. I do miss those days sometimes.
Some days I think it's the most reliable car I own......no computers! Just simple engineering.

I was reading a review of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and cannot help but wonder why the Bronco cannot get an engine compartment that appears better finished?

Looks like this scenereo is either ugly motor or ugly vehicle.

Personally would rather not have a bunch of cheap plastic I have to remove to work on my car. But that's just me. :)

Tell me you know how to work on cars without telling certain other people they can suck it. 😜

I said I'd rather not work on cars. I did work on my VWs and my first truck - a 1972 Chevy pickup rust bucket - back in the day. Also had a first gen RX7 that I raced in SCCA in Spec 7 class. Worked on as needed. Mostly brakes and minor repairs. Today, I no longer need or like to work on cars. I absolutely respect and appreciate those who can and do. I just don't have the skills, time or patience anymore.

Having added cables for lights - brackets for compressors and winch controls, larger 2o cables for winch inside that V6 engine - If I had to take off, and put on a stupid plastic cover every time - I would have lost my shit on more than one occasion. Not only that -but all the under hood accessories are already cramped for space - the plastic cover would then not allow for a lot of it (compressor and winch controller for sure would not fit) - Keep the utility as is - and put the plastic on the cute RAV4 :)

So…i guess my idea of designing a, pastel colored, ‘My Lil Pony’ themed engine cover would probably not do well with this crowd!
Well, Damn! Back to the drawing board….

My Bronco came with a super-clean engine cover. It’s even color-matched to the body!
