Not much if you sleep on your back, there’s just enough room to get a pillow between the tailgate and my head in that corner. Side sleeping helps, which works for me.

Great thread! Love making the 2 door work! IMO looks way better than a 4 door. And for me, I enjoy how maneuverable it is in the woods.

This morning I'm packing up and going to spend the night in the woods on my own. Sleeping in my two door for the first time, without removing the seats. I'll be making a series of videos. One on packing the two door, one on the trip itself, and one on sleeping in the bronco. I'm 5'"8, so I think I should be ok.

In the mean time, here's the review I made on my 2 door being family friendly.

There's another bolt right above the B pillar, the website even says it can be in either position.

I feel like something like this would be the best for rear seat entry.

Well shoot. After reading this I'm worried I'll have less space in my 2dr than in my 16' Tiger. I can at least fit a 4'*2' sheet of plywood in the back of her.

Nice! I've lived off of my Super Tenere for up to 40 days and people say you need a 4-Door Bronco? Pffffftttttt, no worries, if you're a biker a 2-door is the Taj Mahal.

I got my rear seat delete and Goose Gear deck in today with the help of a fellow member. Thanks! I'm pretty fired up about it. And it looks great!

Is that a Base? I thought all came with the molle seat backs

As a fellow two door owner, allow me a couple comments. First, I don't like the look of or the size of the 4-door. If that were the only option, I'd still be driving a Jeep. (To each their own, right?) Second, what really has impressed me is that I know what a short wheel base it has, but somehow, it doesn't feel like a short wheelbase. It rides great. I usually keep my back seats folded forward for extra space, but with kids in college, I don't often have back seat passengers. Can't wait until summer when I can take the roof off!

My wife and I feel the same. We now have two dogs as our traveling companions and we can make due with the seats folded flat. We place the suitcases on the back of the seats, the dogs ride great.

I think I'm going to wait on a rack platform to see what comes out this year.

Going to test fit my Gazelle tent on the factory trails tomorrow. If I can securely mount that, then I can hold off for a while.

Would appreciate the report back on how it works for you. I have the Gazelle T4 also. Love the tent, but it’s a crazy thing to fit and the 2 Dr makes it even more challenging for us, thus the roof rack.

Will you put any other gear up there? I think my MaxTrax and maybe Roto jerry can are what I’m thinking.

That was hilarious. Kudos to the wife, dogs, and especially the kids for being such good sports. You look like a family that knows how to have a good time.

I ordered a 2 door specifically because I like the look of it and it's us 2 empty nesters and some dogs most of the time, occasional grandchildren but not often enough to worry about.
Back in the day our family had a Scout II, the 100" short version and we found it worked fine to transport 3 kids, a dog and camping gear, including the big old Sears cabin canvas tent. We made good use of the roof rack and packed it carefully and more room might have been nice but not 100% necessary. With that experience in mind we ordered our 2 door base with the roof rails, a bargain really, as any other roof rail system costs more and I would have to install it myself.
The Scout had a horizontal 2 section tailgate and I managed to find one of the International factory tents that fit over the open tailgate. Many a boy scout campout was made better by the scoutmaster not having to sleep on the ground. Not a thing for the Bronco unless you figure out a way to extend the bed but then again that's why they make rooftop tents!
When it arrives I get to figure out how to install ham radio stuff. I plan to attach the antenna to the spare tire mount, maybe I'll treat myself to a HF/VHF rig with a remoteable head.
I'm glad to see it looks very livable. If I was happy with a 4 door I'd have kept the LR3!

I think the tent will sit up there nice. Since the tent is soft, I didn't want to rely on tension for the hooks with a rachet strap on the rails, so I ordered a set of kayak straps. That should hold the soft case against the 2 crossbars.

If I had a roof platform, I'd put both the tent and Max Trax up there, but since I don't, I'll just store them alone the driver side now that I removed the one backseat. Ordering Max Trax is next.

The air bags really mess things up in the Bronco. Not worried about the rear as I have the seats out but not much you can do up front from what I see.
