This is a great deal for a dual zone setup. I may jump on this as I dont have one yet.

Just to add picked up a 26qt single zone version to keep the size small and usable for what we need. This thing cools down fast. We will be using it a lot and have an upcoming trip to really test it. No more packing ice coolers.

Funny you mention this. After our last outing, I said to my wife, "This may sound crazy, but I think there's a valid reason to have two portable refrigerators." I have a larger one now, maybe 42-quart capacity, that is ideal for longer trips, but after doing a one-night trip, I saw the value in having a smaller refrigerator. It would also be good for road trips where we stay in hotels, but like having cold beverages and other items available. Whereas my first purchase was about maximum capacity in the smallest footprint, now I need to decide how small I should go without regretting I've gone with too small a fridge. Probably something in the 10-20 quart size range would work, but I see that Wolfbox currently doesn't go that small.

Seeing so many of these companies come out with fridges and solar batteries. I get the batteries since the tech is old and easy, but there are a few things to consider for a car fridge that may not initially seem so obvious if you have no experience owning one.

For reference, I own a Dometic CFX35 now and had a CFX45 before selling to a friend since I have a 2 Dr Bronco.

Battery management (your car battery) is a key point or feature to consider. Quality of insulation is another. Ruggedness for the bumpy off-road riding the fridge must endure. Then there’s the quality of the compressor and efficiency of operation.

Some of the other brands may be fine, but I’d be cautious around a “deal” or low priced option because you have to remember that costs were cut somewhere and it likely won’t be someplace where your eyes can easily see. A fridge is also something that I don’t feel is disposable.

The Dometic CFX line run quiet and hold their cold with ease. When at camp in Summer, you don’t need the biggest solar battery to keep them powered since they manage energy so well. Plus, the Dometics can take a beating and work for many years with no worry.

The overall construction of Dometic is tough to match in the consumer grade product lines. A few of the competitive companies make sense to me, but these new entrants just seem to have come out of nowhere for a money grab and to expand their business footprint, but that’s the equivalent to me for going to a chicken joint for a burger; just why?

Well my second wolf box 48 just arrived today. I bought the first one after reading your review and has been in the back of my 3/4 ton pickup that rides like a logging truck. It'll knock your fillings out if they're loose.
The first couple days I had some issues with power management. It's supplied. Voltage would drop below 12 and having it in eco mode it would shut off. So I put battery protection down to a minimum and took it out of eco mode, since then it runs flawlessly, keeps ice cream hard, and drinks super cold.
The wife liked it so much. She wanted one for the patio by the pool hence the second one.
I did notice the footprint 4 for all. 2nd gen seem to be the same only exception getting taller for the three models.
The older 19 model would be great for A quick trip to the lake and keeping the minnows frisky.

Just started the diesel after 3 Day of the wolf box plugged in and it did drain the batteries a little, noticable on startup, not bad.
For a 2.7 Bronco, I think I'll tote the Ecoflow River II and 200w solar panel along to take the load off on extended trips

They have this same version in a 19qt, but thats as small as it goes. I also targeted this for all the day trips we usually do or at most 2 days. Our next outing is a weekend stay in a cabin with trail riding throughout.

I can't wait to get mine.....I do a lot of off-roading and am planning to also use it for soccer practice. I got the 39 QT version and it has wheels so can roll across field :) Like some here I wanted to get the 19 QT version (or 26 QT).....but I'm for sure going to have friends/family wanting to keep their stuff cool so figured a slightly larger size would be a good sweet spot. I might still consider getting a 19QT for a more permanent-stay in my Bronco. Nice to always have a cold drink on hand. Yesterday night was a perfect example....Met a buddy in a store parking lot cause his kids were selling fireworks....I was there for about 45 minutes chatting and it would have been NICE to have a cold bottle of water or iced tea to sip on.

I also did some research for a more carry-friendly power source, should I need one to power the fridge for a few hours (soccer practice in the Vegas heat). This looks great and fits the bill:

In the meantime, I'll be using a few of these (Walmart only $1.48!!!) to insert in the fridge after removal from the car, while on field. Supposed to have great reviews! Tomorrow is the test!

I'll for sure post a review after using it for a bit and give my 2 cents for the team

My 2 cents after using it this last weekend. This entire weekend was a good test as it was 95 out all weekend. I ran it one day off the 110v which only powers when the vehicle on, then the second day I ran it 110v off a Anker 521 piggy backed to the Bronco 110v. First day was a travel day so mostly the bronco was running so even when I had it not running, the fridge did go up in temp depending on how long the bronco was off, but quickly returned to desired temp when started. The second day was a trail ride all day on/off exploring so that one I kept on the Anker and obviously had no issues. I went about 2 hours off and only burned maybe 15% on the Anker.

Overall it did a great job for what we used it for and I think the best part is its efficiency as it didnt seem to be an electrical hog. I ran it in H cutoff mode and high mode as someone reported some issues with eco mode and BMS, but I never had the BMS kill it first since my 110v outlet goes out immediately. I didnt use my rear port to test if its different as I setup a 110v outlet to my rear cage.
