I found this harness behind the drivers side rear seat. Can someone

tell me what this pigtail is for?

This guy hit it on the head, first try! Certainly an amp connection. Given the wire sizes and connectors, this is for a low power 2ch amp and may have been a cheap powered sub with a built-in amp.

Relatively low power device, given the wire gauge.

Like others have said, probably a sub/amp combo. The phone plug (rj11) connector is for the gain dial. If you look under the hood is there an extra/aftermarket looking power wire connected to the positive battery terminal with a big fuse inline?
