Agreed - if they are truly "smart" why don't they come back to normal running in normal rain and fast running when in heavy rain?

They only seem to go into intermittent mode (which I think is not even regular intermittent mode, rather a growing delay). They never go the other way and come back "on" to regular running.

I fought it was known the motor starts to overheat and auto slows down to keep itself from burning up?

My wipers are doing this also. How dumb. I suppose it could be dangerous in the right scenario.

It's not just a problem of too fast for conditions, you can create a hazard in traffic by needing to slow greatly because you just lost most of your visibility. I'm not the guy that blasts into severe weather going 20 over... But I also dont want to be the guy that gets rearended because I have to drive 1/2 the speed of the other cars to see. I'd rather the car protect me, not the motor, even if it reduces the life of the motor greatly.

3 weeks with my MY23 Black Diamond and in a rain storm last night I experienced the same wiper slow down issue. One year since the OP and there's no fix? What's the issue @Ford Motor Company

@Ford Motor Company please help us. Just picked up a 2022 and The dealer can't fix this yet. It's extremely unsafe to drive in any inclement weather.

This happens on my 2022 Outer Banks that I picked up last month. Just filed a complaint with NHTSA.

Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

Hey all. New to the forums but wanted to share a video of the problem.
Definitely feel this is a safety issue that needs attention ASAP.

My 22 Badlands did not do this but my 23 Wildtrak I traded for definitely does. Had a lot of hard rain yesterday and I had to spend quite a bit of attention to getting the wipers going again. Maybe we should all file an NHSTA report to get Ford moving on this? It’s quite dangerous.
