Winch install computer reprogram?

I'm looking to install a winch and new DV8 bumper next week and just did my youtube training. Do I need to reprogram the computer with a winch protocol? The video referenced "FDRS"? I've got no idea what that is or how to get er dun? Do I have to take into the dealership for this or should I be good to go? Video I watched is below. Is this necessasary?

Holy hell that seems ridiculous! I don't know what the winch install has to do with the vehicle software. Is the winch on a switch or wired into a relay? Looked to me it was just battery and ground during install. Am I missing something?
