Does anyone else (DAE) remember the reveal trailer for the Bronco and the SBD showing the release and articulation with the suspension loaded up and then the Bronco moving forward and immediately lifting a tire?! Cracks me up! Enjoy the vinyl boys!

Who says a wildtrak can’t crawl on rocks? Mine does great without the sway bar disconnected. I have impressed the hell out of a lot of people at Hollister Hills (I know you’re familiar with HH) with what I’ve done in my bronco out there. What’s the point of the sway bar disconnect? It’s to get more articulation, right? Why do you need more articulation? Because you have more traction when all four tires are touching the ground. So yes, there is that small window where you can have all four tires touching the ground with the sway bar disconnected when you’d have one tire still off the ground if it were connected. Having front and rear lockers is what really makes the difference when you’re rock crawling. I’m not saying the sway bar disconnect doesn’t help, but people act like it’s some magical device that could transform an all wheel drive minivan into an all out rock crawler. In reality, it just keeps your back tire 4-6” closer to the ground than mine, and mine will still pull through in those situations because you guessed it, I have lockers too.

Be honest, most badlands owners really love the sway bar disconnect so they can drop a front tire in a ditch and pose with the back tire way off the ground, and then hit the button to drop the back tire a few inches closer to the ground and look like a badass.

I’d love to go run some trails and hit some obstacles with you next time you go to Hollister. If you’d like to show me how much more capable your badlands is than my wildtrak, I’d be up for that challenge. I don’t mean for that to sound like a dick measuring contest, just a fun day on the trails. And I hope the tone of my post doesn’t sound angry or defensive, that’s not what I’m going for.

Based on capability. Having additional capability isn’t a bad thing. Having a 58k desert runner that can’t crawl on some rocks is concerning. I have a 52k rock crawler that also is a desert runner. What is your argument? Lol

The WT, when compared to a SAS 2.7 BL has the same engine, same transmission, same tires, same clearance, same bash plates, same or superior modular bumper, same electronics, same cameras, and same performance everything except the BL has a button to push to rock crawl vs turning a wrench. So, other than the fact that the WT with HOSS 3.0 has sturdier tie rods, steering rack and superior Fox Shocks…..tell me how the BL is superior from a capability standpoint in any meaningful way…..

Yep, they see the WT always referred to as the “Top Trim” by YouTuber’s and the like and they start salivating like Pavlov’s dogs and pinging like like a pinball machine. Spouting off about a press release that says “most capable” ….because the BL has a parlor trick disco button and they can wash their shitty looking rubber floors out with a garden hose…..but hey, far be it for me to say rubber floors and vinyl seats don’t add to capability.

Interesting comment coming from someone who has a First Edition? Is a FE a Base with a big screen and even fancier stickers?

No. btw I borrowed that comment from someone else, can't remember who, but I thought it was funny and fairly accurate.

I got the FE because it was a little special but then got less special. If it wasn't for the FE that cost a couple grand more than a similarly equipped Badlands for no reason, I would have bough a Badsquatch because that was the most capable Bronco (besides FE and now Raptor). I would have rather gone Badsquatch loaded up, mg seats, and washout floor and saved a few grand but decided to stay with the FE. I was close to switching.

That comment earlier came from a discussion about the purpose an desire of the Wildtrak were made. Not many people understood it and many figured it was popular just because it is the only one to with factory squatch. Some made the point that Wildtrak came with a GOAT mode they wanted but that has since been made into a no big deal since it was figured out how to enable in Foreskin.

As for me, I like driving my base more than my first edition. The base gives me that first car experience and just let's me drive (it's also a 2 door). The FE is kind of bogged down with too many creaturd comforts that distract me from having fun.

Badlands 2.7 with forscan unlocking sport mode is the ultimate trim. No one can say different

I don't know how many times I can say the same thing without just straight-up insulting people.

The black interior of a Badlands is just straight up ugly. I mean, who gets a black interior unless it's an all-black vehicle?

Contrary, the Medium Sandstone Leather interior trimmed with Black Onyx looks amazing.

Under no circumstances is a chic (other than perhaps a Badlands owner) going to say a Badlands interior is nicer than a Wildtrak. It's just not happening.

Seeing as you actually, you know, drive the fuckin things from the inside , it stands to reason someone would, you know, value the appearances of the interior.

And some of us don't really need a sway-bar disconnect because A- We're not taking our new $65K Broncos rock-crawling, you go ahead and do it , I'm good - because B- IF I decide to , I also happen to have, you know, the most capable 4-wheel-drive platform on the planet, a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, so if I or some hot chics get the urge to disconnect some sway-bars, I can make that happen at the press of a button.

2DR WT 2.7- For me- knowing the pragmatic utilization of this vehicle, knowing l may never use it for Rock Crawlling I opted for the WT. The rig is capable and if I get myself into a bad situation or want to explore, I won't be worrried, but this weekend I was validated chosing WT.

In short, there is a road from my cabin back home that is rarely traveled becuase about 20 miles of it is dirt though the mountains. As the crow flies, it is shorter, but because it is dirt, it is a big negative for most folks but I decided to drive it last weekend to see for myself.

In short, what is generally a 2.5 (best case)- 3 hour drive back home was reduced to 2 hrs. While not made for crawling, towing or excellent gas mileage, the Wildtrak excelled on a dirt road at 50-60+ MPH. Super stable, predictable, planted and fun. In reality, I am way more likely to take a dirt road to a random ghost town vs. seek out a technical obstacle requiring "crawl mode". In short...........fun and impressive.

You have chosen wisely. Must be a blast.
