I think there are free functions and paid functions. From Ford
Damn. So the base will remote start and unlock from the app? For free? That’s a huge benefit towards base IMO.

I think - but not sure - Base/BD have the same suspension. Have you figured out what largest diameter tires both can run? Different drive ratios....is that important?

I feel that a Badlands-Sasquatch (Four-Door) without any added tech options from the mid, high, and lux packages is the best combination when it comes to long term reliability, durability, and dependability for an off-road rig.

I feel that if you add tech from the mid, high, and lux packages that things may go wrong and it is the last thing that you want to happen when out in the middle of nowhere. I thought about the high package as well. However, I stick to the side of reliability. I can live without the parking and backup sensors. For me, I dont need added tech when off roading and as a daily driver.

It’s clearly designed to entice everyone to upgrade to it, because you’ll want at least one of these features. I’m trying to resist myself.

Mid Package
  • 2-Door Intelligent Access with lock/unlock
  • 110V/150W AC power outlet
  • ambient footwell lighting
  • auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control
  • heated front seats
  • illuminated visor mirrors
  • Remote Start System (automatic transmission only)
  • Reverse Sensing System
  • subscription Navigation with 3-month trial
  • SYNC 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition
  • Ford Co-Pilot360: Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, Auto High-Beam Headlamps, and Rear View Camera with Backup Assist Grid Lines
I hope they will offer heated seats as a stand alone option- doubt it but they would be nice without the rest of the crap

I wouldn’t bank on that. If it’s anything like Dodge you have to have the navigation package and pay for a subscription to use the phone and the app, that is through Sirius though so it may be different.

I do not understand the aversion of some to technology. It’s 2020, not 1970, times change.

What are “adaptive dashacards”

I’m a tech moron
I’ve been wondering this as well. My guess is that it’s a more interactive center display between the speedometer and tachometer. It’ll probably have vehicle info, audio details, mpg, trip info, etc.

Again I’m guessing. I have no idea.

Rear view camera would be the only thing I’d want from the mid package. Don’t feel the need for any of the other stuff.
I believe rear view camera is standard with ALL models.
