Why are these not working???

Good morning, wanted to ask a quick question about the shifter thing in my Bronco, but don’t know how to formulate the question properly so I thought to show you what my problem was to see if anyone knows if this is something I could fix or if it needs to go to the dealer!?!?

Those aren’t lights and if they are mine have never worked either. It confused me at first, too. Just need to look at the dash/gauge cluster area to see which “gear” is selected.

Those haven’t been lit up across Ford truck platforms for a few years.

okay thanks, I just thought the letter selection, for example “Reverse”, wold light up red when selected.

I think I could be imagining things, but I could stare it lite up read when selected!?!?

Vehicles that display the gear in the cluster typically do not have lights around the shifter

Thank you, I guess I didn't formulate the question properly, I knew there was some sort of action when a gear was selected, I just couldn’t remember if the action was a lite background or just a lite letter indicating the selected gear..

in any case, if anyone knows how to fix this I would appreciate the info!

I'm glad these aren't lights. I had bulbs go out on other vehicles for this and it was a PIA to replace.

There is no light there. The dash indicates what gear youre in. Nothing needs fixed. Not sure what else youre looking for.
