You don't get it as a factory option because this is where they mount it. Buy it afterwards and mount it on the inside of the gas door....Genius
Dude that's brilliant!

It will lock if you lock it by using the keypad, usually pressing 8&9 at the same time.
Mine must have a computer error then, because that doesn’t work. It flashes and the dash shows that the key is in the car. Who knows!

Coule be, the vehicles I have tried it on were 2018 and 2020, I definitely understand what you are saying, as there is no point if it works like that.

Have it on my F150 it's great for locking your keys in to truck so your hunting buddy can pick you up after looking for elk for 6 hrs and your 10 miles down the mountain and not wanting to walking back to the vehicle without seeing any sign of any animals . Lol.

I'll add it only if I am 100 years old.

If anyone has the dimensions of the keypad and is looking to relocate it inside the fuel door, I took these measurements. If it can fit on the black piece on the outside of the indent, the door should still close. It may be able to hang over the indent a bit, but I’m not sure.

I’ve always loved having the keypad so I didn’t have to go find the keys if I needed to get in a vehicle or being able to lock my keys inside the car. But there’s no shot in hell I’m giving 110 bucks to put that piece of sheet on the side of my bronco. I’ll add it after the fact and stick it in the fuel door.

The one they show in the door looks cheap, if they implement in to the B pillar like they do other Fords with the integrated touch rather than that button system then Yes

Use the actual lock button on the door and it will work,

After reading about their ā€˜reliability’ on the ranger forum... I’ll pass. I use the one on the F150 to lock the doors sometimes. I liked the one on my SportTrac but it was not a battery one.

The keypad dimensions are 4 5/8 long x 1 3/8 tall x 3/8 thick. Doesn't look like it will fit inside the gas door because of the recessed area.

Those that really want one can paint the housing to match your Bronco. At least it will blend in a little better than a back blob stuck on your door.

Not getting it but I've read others are so that they can lock their keys in their car. Honestly not sure if this is even possible to do. My vehicle is a 2011 and even back then if it sensed my keys IN the car, it wouldn't lock. A safety feature so that you don't lock your keys in. Saved my hide a few times tbh in these past ten years

It works by you saving a code and then you use the code to enter your car
Why not just use ford pass app? keypad no good it you take your doors off

I just added one. I’ve had them on all my ford vehicles.
To answer the why don’t you use FordPass?
1. Well at the beach and certain other things I don’t carry my phone either.
2. If my kids need something out of the car when camping or anywhere they know the code and get get whatever they need without bothering me.

just tested yes it will lock with the keys inside. I have the console lock and the locking drawer. And plan to lock my keys inside the safe.

i put mine on the pillar as it looks better there and doesn’t matter if I have the doors on or off. Still unlocks the tailgate this way as well.

some people hide them and I don’t understand that. It’s not like everyone knows the codešŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
