Looking for some insight. Any way to get the dealer to refund a couple Dealer Installed Options that weren’t installed at MAP…Tube Doors and Door Bags? They were on my DORA. I put them on and they don’t fit easily and hate to have to spend an hour shimming them because the Aluminum is fickle.

Just want to know if I have any recourse. Also, there is no note on the vehicle if that matters.

Would appreciate any help.

TIA

A i can say is you can try but good luck.

If they are on the window sticker you are stuck. If not they are now used and because you not dealer installed them you lost the 36,000 mile warranty on them.

As "used" items the dealer will have trouble using them for another vehicle especially if they are damaged or faulty and left their immediate control.

If you decide to sell them everyone here now knows they don't fit

And the lack of dealer supplied financing with a kickback means their profit sharing to you is limited to tge ADM you may have paid

I think this kinda depends on your dealer. Most likely they have no obligation to take them back. Especially if they have been unpackaged or used which certainly sounds like the case with the doors at least. Maybe ask them nicely? See what they say. Maybe they can sell them for you on consignment or something like that. Worst case put on craigslist/marketplce. You might lose a bit, but should not be a huge hit.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks. Appreciate the honesty. I don’t give a shite about selling them here. Just taking a chance maybe someone else had had similar experience.
Also. They just put them in the back and don’t offer to install them.

I come here because this group has the best handle on all things Bronco.

Ford sells paper. All companies do for durable goods worth more than a half months wage. Which is fine…because the ancillary benefit of this truck is it’s a blast to drive. Couches and beds are just an expense. Couldn’t be happier.

If you read the fine print on the Tube Doors, they say "OFF ROAD USE ONLY". So technically, from a dealer perspective, they cannot install them on the vehicle and have you drive onto a paved road or they could be in trouble with Ford. or other legal issues if something happens to you. So....there is that.

The likelihood of the dealer taking them back is slim to none. You said that they were on your DORA, has your Bronco been built? If not, change your order and drop those options. If you already have them, selling them here is your best bet.

I have them and the Bronco. Also they nicked the plastic on the back of my passenger front seat putting them in the back of my 2 door.
That I expect to be fixed and most likely they’ll take care of it. I love the Bronco so far…recommend the Ford Performance Tune if you have a manual.

That doesn't make sense. Ford is not going to void the warranty on the tube doors because OP installed them and not the dealer.

OP, you can always try to take them back but your best bet is to figure out why they aren't fitting correctly. I haven't heard of any others having issues with fitment so maybe give it another go. My JCR tube doors were tricky the first time I installed them but now I can swap out factory doors for tube doors in about 5minutes and they fit great.
