I've been rocking my Viair 400P for 17+ years & it's still pumping up my 37's all at once so I'm not looking to replace it anytime soon. If I was looking to buy a compressor, I would be looking at a twin compressor (faster) & more than likely one that can't be mentioned around these parts any longer :(

YMMV 🤠
We’re brand new to off-roading, owned the Bronco for 1 week, we own the same compressor. Do you have a photo of your system to air up all 4 at the same time? Much appreciated.

We bought this compressor for emergency use when hauling our 30’ Airstream and thankfully have never had to use it. Now we have the Bronco and plan to use it regularly, how long does it take to air up your tires? Thanks.
It's taking about ~5 minutes per tire, going from ~18 psi back to 40 per tire. So about ~20 minutes.

When I had my cheap little "emergency" compressor, it took about 15 minutes per tire. Much faster now.

It's a quick flate system. I've since shortened the hoses. They also make a flat hose system vice the coil I have. I got the coil system to keep it up off the ground, but thinking back the flat hose would be easier to manage as it get a bit tangled & is why I shortened the hoses. I also changed out the valve to a brass ball valve as the plastic valve handle got soft & almost melted. It's much easier to open & close now 🤠.

Where in CA are you located?

That’s not bad at all. Thanks for the info!

I use the ARB single air compressor mounted under the hood. Works great.
  • On road 37psi
  • Trails 30psi
The single compressor works great for those minor pressure differences.

To deflate, I just use the ARB air chuck. Nothing special.

I got an ARB twin during a sale this summer. Those don't come often. Just waiting on an underhood bracket to arrive so I can install it.

Interesting. I used to use an old 72CF scuba tank with a modified regulator in. My garage. Was really cheap and quite effective. You can buy used 30-40CF pony tanks cheap as well. Best is you can refill to 3000psi at any scuba store for a few bucks. Just build your own brackets

For those with the larger portable compressors - Where do you keep it in the Bronco?

The cubby under the floor in the back is pretty small. It looks like there's quite a bit of room under the back seat.

I have a Viair 84P that was really slow on 31s. It fits in the cubby along with some other stuff.
