I do not believe the boot will stay on with that option. It needs the groove (like OEM) or a ridge to retain the boot..Could some rubber strip like material or even a bicycle tube not be used as a shim?

I had received an email as well stating that they were making changes to the boot mounting flange as well. This will solve the problem I was having. A somewhat easy machining fix on their part. A difficult process to have recognized as an issue. I wonder how many were shipped out? If a person was using the Icon tie rods it would have been fine as the boots are sized for Hoss 2.0 diameter. If trying to use the Ford Performance tie rods and boots the boot flange was too small and could not be crimped tight with the supplied 77mm clamp. All is well, I should have a new part next week.Got an email back from Quinn from 74weld, they have a batch of housings finishing next week with a larger boot mounting flange. I ordered a kit with the new housing for my hoss 3 rack on order.
Will the new design still work with Icon Tie RodsNew part has arrived and it is a work of art! Just a beautifully machined part.
