afternoon all!

i am curious if anyone else has run into a pretty harsh rattle while offroading and/or driving on washboarded dirt roads?

it's been getting slowly worse, so when i got home today from a trip i started checking things under the bronco. skid plates tight, suspension tight, steering tight, so i pulled the skid plate that you'd remove for an oil change. i starting pushing and wiggling on things and finally heard the noise!

when i push on the passenger side of the front axle assembly, i hear that clunk clunk clunk that i can sometimes feel in the floor, but most certainly hear from what sounds like directly below the shifter.

the circled bolt wasn't loose, but it also wasn't tight. i got almost a full turn out of it before it snugged up, and that rattle is substantially less now. there appears to be some kind of large bushing in there.

anyone else experienced this? of course the roads around town are nice so it's going to be a little bit before i can get back out on dirt and see if this was indeed my issue. I might just bring this up with my dealer as I have a small list of other nitpicky things that need to be resolved at some point.

thanks!

Did you ever remedy this situation? I started noticing a similar sound.

There is a TSB for broken FDU mount and this sounds like it could be from that
