This seems like too much work. Just get the $110 remote entry keypad and put in on the inside of the gas flap. I leave my fob in the truck and use the pad all the time.

nice, yeah i dont have the door keypad. didnt know about a dash keypad option. do you have a part number? just curious to see how it works
It uses four digit and pound to unlock shifter. Kinda a pain since I never turn it off but it protects the Bronco from theft too. I surf so much that I don’t want to not beable to set it up when it’s good and I’m running to get out is left on.

They call them "laser cut" but no lasers are involved, just a tiny 2mm end mill. There are several different types of backups for the HU101 style that don't have the fob heel on them. We have a couple different styles for those that don't want a big backup.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered. have a 2022 bronco and want to know:

1. is the valet key water proof?
2. is the only place to have a duplicate of the valet made the dealer?
3. if not, what is the running price to duplicate these? someone saiid due to the cut its about $50?

The reason i ask is i want to take it with me surfing and keep the fob in the car (in a farday bag) locked up.

Thanks in advance.

Wen
I had two blades made(we stock blank ones). That way I don’t have something big and bulky. I keep one in my wallet and one on my BCD. I also added a keypad to the back door.

Well I sure would not be exposing it to saltwater. And if I remember correctly these new fobs for the Bronco do not remain active for code scanning, they go to sleep when motionless. Also it takes multiple codes to be able to jack a Bronco, a separate code is transmitted for each action needed from entry to start. So I see no need for a farday bag.
i have a key pad entry on mine lol
also the metal valet has no component to worry about getting wet

Saltwater decays, is corrosive. Not to mention putting a key in your pocket surfing. Next thing you know key is sitting at the bottom of the bay.

I like the idea of keypad hidden behind fuel door.

thanks man. making me feel better about not getting a spare but i feel that heel part with the button to remove it might get wonky after a while.

For the keypad, it depends if you have remote start to know the part number. Fordaccessories.com show the part number depending if you have remote start or not. It does have to be programmed at the dealer (some have had success with Forscan). The key blades you can get at most places that do keys (laser cut)

some locksmith said its 180 bucks because he needs to get a code from Ford? and they charge him $100 for it? is this bullshit? i thought this blade key was purely mechanical?

sorry for all the questions but since you had spares made you should be able to confirm. thanks

I'm assuming no issues with operation since it's next to the tailgate sensor ?

Thanks
