Helpful. It was already on the car so may as well utilize itThe cheapest way is not to use this relic of the past.
Thanks. Will attempt to find those codes and attempt that.you need to pull the flash code from the keypad and have a Ford Dealer use FMC Dealer to get the door code. these are factory "aftermarket" keypads. no pre loaded code hidden in any kick panels. Google how to get the flash code and then go to your local Ford store with your registration documents to prove ownership and nicely ask for help. Sales department will be more helpful for free than service.
Got it. Mine came with one too (and the original code on the card in the glovebox). It's never been used. I understand "redundancy", but between the remote in my pocket, and the sensor on the handles, I see no need to fiddle with the "keypad" on the door. On the top of that, I NEVER lock my vehicles. I understand your situation might be different.Helpful. It was already on the car so may as well utilize it

Everyone is different, I hardly ever lock my vehicle either, but I hate carrying the key fob in my pocket
This is what my dealer kept saying they'd do when I bought used. No dice. They sucked. Haven't been back to them since and use a different dealer for all my service now.If the last owner added it on themselves, Ford won't be able to get you the code. You might have luck reaching out to the dealer to contact the customer who traded it in.
I was able to get the code from the Mercedes dealer I bought it from. The sales guy was the one who took it in on trade so he text the previous owner, I got lucky. This is what my dealer kept saying they'd do when I bought used. No dice. They sucked. Basically:
- Needed a second key (had to pay for it) since they couldn't get it from the previous owner (my guess is didn't give a shit since I had already bought it)
- Said once they had the second key they could do it
- Spoiler: a lie
- Ended up saying they'd order a new one for XXX amount of money
- Spoiler: they didn't, another lie
- Took it off and tossed it, and now I have an area where I can't get the 'glue residue' off
I don't know about that! It is probably the most used feature of all my Ford's!The cheapest way is not to use this relic of the past.
Yeah, tried to get them to contact the owner but got "no answer" for a few weeks and took the hint.I was able to get the code from the Mercedes dealer I bought it from. The sales guy was the one who took it in on trade so he text the previous owner, I got lucky.
A local detail shop will wipe off that residue in less than a minute. I relocated mine to somewhere less visible and had the same issue.
