Unplugged door handle connector inside driver door

Has anyone had this issue? Had a super annoying banging inside the drive door since I picked her up. Took the door apart and found the connector just bouncing around which fit right in the interior handle connector. Any ideas why it would be disconnected and what it actually does? My door worked fine prior.

You also need to put the cable strain relief into its mounting hole. The ford assembly team may have missed installing the cable assembly properly. Bad QA

That's for the proximity entry. If your vehicle doesn't have that it's just a dummy plug since they use the same harness
