Just throwing in my 2 cents from my experience. Ordered a 4 Dr Badlands in Dec 2021. Only change before Sept 2022 change to a 23 model was removing tow package. DORA signed in September during verification process. In February I didn’t think it was going to get built so I purchased a 22 that had everything I ordered plus tow package and modular bumper (bonus!).

The Bronco I ordered gets delivered last week but ends up stuck in the seatbelt recall. It gets freed from that so I go and look at it today to possibly trade broncos. I thought they were going to be honest and do what’s right. But no. They bring the paperwork and it has the current sticker price. I asked why it doesn’t have the sticker price from my signed DORA. They totally played dumb like they had never heard of retail price protection and only offered my private offer off the current sticker price. No matter what I said or how much I explained, they weren’t budging. Plus, there was the usual attempt to turn a quick profit on my trade-in (current Bronco) by only offering me $54K. I know prices have come down a lot, but not that much! They expected me to swallow an extra $10K for the deal so they could pocket the retail price price protection!

It is what it is. I am just glad I have a Bronco I am really happy with. Hopefully others have had better luck with getting their retail price protection from Covert Ford in Austin. I am sure they are happy to sell it for the current sticker price plus maybe a couple thousand more!

I changed the original.
The dealer may have to contact their rep to get this straightened out. Seems there was another with the same problem converting to a Heritage. You should qualify. And on top of the Private Offer, any increases during the model year from when you ordered in Oct '22 but those are covered by the dealer. You should pay the Oct '22 price minus the Private Offer.

The biggest issue I see is that you already took delivery. Kinda late now and doubt anything can be done at this point. Needed to go after this before.

I picked up my Bronco today after 19 months of waiting since placing my order in December of 2021. I am happy to report that the dealer honored all price protection and my private offer. Basically taking my DORA from September of 2022 (when the 2022MY order was converted to a 2023MY) and then subtracting the private offer. A special thanks to @RagnarKon for this thread, and to all the members that contributed invaluable information. Also a shout out to @FordVideoGuy for all insight he provided in his webcasts. I contacted the sales manager 2 weeks ago to bring up price protection and provided him with what I thought the final price should be based on all the info provided regarding Fords Price protection policy (minus sales tax, registration, etc). He said he would check into it and came back agreeing with me to that number. As an added bonus the salesman came and picked me up this morning to drive me to the dealership because I didn’t have a ride! Above and beyond what they needed to do since I live 42 miles away from the dealer. Good luck to everyone still waiting for their Bronco.

Jones Ford, Shallotte, NC. It was a pleasant experience taking delivery after a long and stressful 19 months of waiting.

let me know if this sounds right…I have a 2 door wildtrak (lux and mandatory leather seats)order from January 2022 and I’m trying to figure how much I am getting off for price protection. Right now I have my total at $9,875 (includes my $500 deposit). Does that sound right? Can anyone confirm. I am scheduled for August 28 production. Tracking says that my order was confirmed 9/9/2022

My long-awaited 2-Dr Outer Banks Squatch arrived this week, I picked it up, but was unable to take both of the price protection discounts from 2021 to now. While I argued up and down with the dealer, he swore I was only eligible for $2350 (Private Offer) and when I insisted I was entitled to Retail Price Protection as I had a 2021 order, he printed out the Dealer Reporting, Incentives and & Vehicle Eligibility (DRIVE) report, which by my VIN, only showed program #38644, at $2350, as applicable. After I reviewed the DRIVE report, I noticed the order date was Sep 9, 2022 and I asked him to update it to Oct 15, 2021, which was my original order date (I figured out that was probably why I didn’t show as eligible for the Retail Price Protection, the system said my order date was 2022!). FYI, I did not change my order, but the dealer did a reorder in Sep 2022.

He said he was unable to change the date, it was controlled by Ford. I pointed out it was costing me $3250--zero sympathy from him. In fact he happily told me they’d just sold one off the lot for +$25K and I should take what I got and run with it! So I did, while paying $3250 more than I should have.

Any suggestions on how to change the order date and whether I’ll be successful after that in recouping my entitled Retail Price Protection?

Seems they are planning to pocket your retail price protection like my dealer was trying to do. Seems they only get it if the original order holder buys the bronco. Your private offer protects you from the increases from 21-22 model years. You should have an updated signed DORA, when the order was converted to a 23 in September. Ideally, you should have payed that price, not what is on your window sticker.

You need to reread the first post in this thread. All of the details are there. In reality since you already signed the papers, it's most likely too late to do anything. Especially with a dealer playing games. No dates need changed and are correct.

The Private Offer covers from your original order date in '21 until when the reorder took place in Sept '22. It is perfectly normal to reorder for a new model year which in this case would be for 2023. At that time you should of gotten a new DORA and signed the papers for the COVP. The Retail Protection covers from the Sept '22 reorder until the built invoice so all of the increases during MY '23. Increases are automatically rebated back to the dealer and will not show up as an incentive. So you should be paying what was on the DORA from Sept '22 minus the Private Offer.

You need to look at the actual price increase documentation which is on here. Ford has been doing the Retail PP like this for years so a dealer playing dumb is just playing games. It is not an incentive so those documents do not apply. You need to look at each price increase document during MY'23 to see the way it's worded. (which are all the same)

The top 2 paragraphs explain your Retail PP. When they talk about when the order was originally received, they are referring to Sept '22 Prior to that is covered by your Private Offer which is sort of special due to the unusually long wait times.

Just wanted to share my experience this past Friday when I went to pick up my 3/4/22 WT order. I was prepared with my Private Offer of $2925 and a list of all the ‘23 price increase PP via the flow chart and my signed DORA, in total about $6525 below the window sticker. They were fine with the PO but said there is no PP program for ‘23. They pulled out the DRIVE report as well and said “see, only these apply”. I called BS. After some back and fourth they applied the $2500 walk-away offer and bumped my OBX trade-in $1K from what they quoted me a few months ago so in the end it came to within $200 of what my expectations were and we did the deal. Not sure why they went this route but it all worked out and I have my WT….finally.

See my post from 6/14. The links to the folks to email is on page 22 I believe. Note that ftoney came back as undeliverable so no need to include him. As for an update, I got a phone call yesterday morning from my liaison saying she has assigned my case to one of her teams and they will be contacting my dealership. She said I should expect to have a resolution in the next couple of days, so maybe by Monday. I will update this thread when they contact me. Oh, my Bronco is still showing as in production. Been that way since 6/13. I understand this is not unexpected at this time as they are putting them all though thorough QC checks. Or so I have heard.
Just looking for an update on this case. Did you get any resolution? I'm taking it to the mattresses with my dealer on this BS.

I did get a positive resolution. In an email from the liaison she said I will get my Bronco for the price on my order sheet. She stated the dealership will reimburse me once they get credited by Ford. I picked up my Bronco on 7/15 and the sales folks were exceptionally nice. While completing final paperwork the sales manager wondered if I had talked to someone... I played dumb and just said I hade sent an email inquiry to an address I found in one of the forums. Anyway, he said that I will be getting the full $4,350 back from them as soon as they get it. Guess my email made some ripples all the way down to the sales manager. If you have not already done so, I suggest you email those I referenced. Be nice though. Simply state your dealer is saying you have to pay current window sticker price and you believe you should be paying what is stated on your sales order. I provided my vin, order price, window sticker price, and a case number given to me from help line. Good luck!

On the positive side it is good that you will be getting the price protection you are entitled to. Many seem to have not which is total BS and the dealer is just pocketing the money. Are they going to reimburse you on the sales tax on that $4350? That is the issue with them playing this game, you are paying sales tax on the higher amount.

Thanks for the reply! This sounds verrrry close to what's happening to me and I believe mine may have been an honest mistake, but I'm not positive.

@RagnarKon mine may be an edge case but I'm curious how this would impact the flowchart if my dealer is being honest. Per your flowchart, I'm entitled to the $2950 private offer and the $4350 price protection to-date for 2023, but I'm trying to determine if simply having a 2021 reservation - but no order until Nov 2022 - should preclude me from getting the private offer.

Aug 2021: Made reservation
Nov 21 2022: Completed order by deadline for 2023MY, no changes to order thereafter
DORA MSRP for 2023 Wildtrak Bronco with options: $64,835
(Delivery date is any day now with the Bronco 17 mi from destination, so I'm working through pricing.)

At some point shortly after I signed the order, my dealer noted that I had the $2,925 private offer in SmartVincent. Great! However, this past weekend, the final numbers only included the private offer - no price protection.

Following additional conversation, they've reportedly reached out to Ford and are saying now that I would qualify for price protection ($4,350) but NOT the private offer. So where Saturday's deal sheet had a line that previously showed -$2950, it now shows -$4,350, not the combined amounts. Sounds like they're saying the private offer is no longer on the table but I need to understand if this is just the dealer jerkin me around.

One point of interest here is that I made & paid the $100 reservation fee in 2021 but no build specified anywhere until my order on 11/21/22. Nonetheless, everything I've seen so far from Ford and on here seems to suggest I should qualify for both the price protection (due to 2021 reservation) and the private offer (due to 2023 MY order placed in Nov 2022).

Anyone else in similar circumstances?
