Just throwing in my 2 cents from my experience. Ordered a 4 Dr Badlands in Dec 2021. Only change before Sept 2022 change to a 23 model was removing tow package. DORA signed in September during verification process. In February I didn’t think it was going to get built so I purchased a 22 that had everything I ordered plus tow package and modular bumper (bonus!).
The Bronco I ordered gets delivered last week but ends up stuck in the seatbelt recall. It gets freed from that so I go and look at it today to possibly trade broncos. I thought they were going to be honest and do what’s right. But no. They bring the paperwork and it has the current sticker price. I asked why it doesn’t have the sticker price from my signed DORA. They totally played dumb like they had never heard of retail price protection and only offered my private offer off the current sticker price. No matter what I said or how much I explained, they weren’t budging. Plus, there was the usual attempt to turn a quick profit on my trade-in (current Bronco) by only offering me $54K. I know prices have come down a lot, but not that much! They expected me to swallow an extra $10K for the deal so they could pocket the retail price price protection!
It is what it is. I am just glad I have a Bronco I am really happy with. Hopefully others have had better luck with getting their retail price protection from Covert Ford in Austin. I am sure they are happy to sell it for the current sticker price plus maybe a couple thousand more!
