Sort as the title states. The last lift I did was on a 1980 F150 it was a body lift so I could get bigger tires under it.

Today I decided I needed a bit of a lift for my OBX after I got high centered and had to be pulled up the hill. I am going to stay with my current wheels and tires, basic OBX wheels 32 inch tires.

So on to my question.

I see I can install pucks under the coil overs, or now shocks (use old spring), or completely new struts. I am thinking of the Bilstein 5100's

Will this get my under carriage up two inches?

I have been reading different post here and a few other places which is just confusing me more.

If the Bilsteins won't get my under carriage up higher which set up will.

Thanks

I have Bilstein 5100's and you can set the lift from 1" up to about 2.5", all sprung components (everything except the rear axle and LCAs) will raise by the selected amount. I set my front at 1.5 and my rear at 1.75, got about 1.75 on both ends. I am still running 32"s albeit a mor aggressive tread. Love it.

Thanks that is what I was looking for. I guess the 5100's and a set of skids plates are next on my list before I head out again.

You say you want to keep your original tires and wheels?

22 was getting pretty rough last time I did it, and that was before this last six weeks or so of rain.

Yes I swapped out the OEM tires for Duratrac's which did a great job on the trails. So I can't justify buying new rims and tires at this time. I figure I would stay with these until I get the other stuff done that I need. The lift/ skids/ and?

I bought the Ford engine and transfer case skids, about $200 (not the most HD, but adequate i believe). I also have a RC hidden winch which gives me a steel plate up front, I'm looking at skid options for the transmission.

I have been looking at the RC hidden winch and a 9K winch to go in it also.

I am trying not to just go buy a bunch of stuff until I figure out what I need. I bought tires to fast now I have to work around that.

So why what every I get now will be slow and thought out.

Good idea, I bought a spacer lift,, then decided on the Bilstein. Got the winch and tires I wanted took a year, mostly thinking, and rethinking

that seems really nice and tight, and loss of clearance or approach angle up front ?
Maybe a little approach loss not a lot because it's tucked back
