Trailer Brake Fault

I have a 2024 Bronco Badlands, the trailer brake fault alarm started popping up intermittently about 5 months ago, maybe once a week, and progressively got worse with it popping up at every start, I advised my dealership (Bellingham Ford) as well as contacting Ford USA. The vehicle is still under warranty, needless to say I am now entering week 4 of it being in the dealership with no fix or repair in sight, is this normal.

My guess is, not normal as they are having to spend 4+ weeks diagnosing the issue... Sensor bad? Computer program corrupted? Computer itself with a fault? Wiring the issue? Connector issue? Is something else dumping power into the circuit causing the issue? This total integrated systems in our modern vehicles can be absolutely hair pullingly difficult when something like this happens.

Watched a video the other day from one of the online mechanics. Car he was trying to diagnose was tossing codes, not turning off at times, other times restarting... problem? The vehicle owner purchased a new hood latch off ebay to replace the broken spring on the oem hood latch which is plugged into the computer. When the mechanic plugged in the old broken hood latch, all the problems vanished.

It is likely a wire that has rubbed on a sharp edge under the dash near where the module is mounted. I had that happen on mine, I thought I was careful with routing the wiring, but harness fell down against a sharp edge on the cross brace where I mounted the module.

Turns out it was a software issue, now hopefully resolved, took almost 4 weeks, but happy to back in the seat.
