Trading pickup for Bronco

Howdy,

I'm considering trading my Ram 1500 for a Bronco Wildtrax soft top. Has anyone went from pickup to bronco? Any regrets?

I justified still 'needing' both a new Bronco and older pick up. Different uses and gear. Truck more for work, Bronco more for fun.

What concerns do you foresee?
What MIGHT be the downsides for your use case?

Do you haul a ton of stuff in the bed of your truck, firewood etc?
You'll need a utility trailer to compensate.

When I had a F250, lifting anything heavy or bulky always made me wonder about using a smaller SUV and a utility trailer with a ramp.
There are upsides to that scenario.
I've rented a small trailer 2 or 3 times with the Bronco and am looking into buying one ... I love the "utility" of it ...LOL

Do you tow often, how heavy?
I just did a bunch of towing with my 2.3L 4dr Badlands.
3k lb Boat and gear. Right at the Broncos advertised limits.
Powerwise, Bronco did just as well if not better than my Dad's 1/2 ton Chebby, keep in mind 4cyl turbo ... impressive. I never lacked for power while towing, even up a few small but steep hills I encounter in So. Indiana. I hate to say the 2.7 would be better, because in some manner, it would be unneeded. The 2.3 IS that good.

Stability wise, at 65mph I have zero issues with the Bronco. At Interstate speeds (75mph max while towing that boat) it's safe , pretty stable, but not as much as that old crew cab 1/2 ton.
The back roads I towed on were hilly and curvy, again, Bronco was fine but the weight did push it around a bit more than the truck.
Not bad by any means, just there will be differences.

That’s exactly what I’m trying to figure out. I have back issues so I’m trying to decide either comfort or cool. Haha. I don’t tow anything and do light house/yard tasks.

I don’t haul anything but my fat ass. I’m retired military. So I’m worried about trading comfort for being cool. Have you had any problems with the seats being uncomfortable?

Bronco seats are great for me, but that is 100% an individual perspective depending on each rider's personal injuries and back condition.
The electric seat's are great for my old bad back...can dial them in to my favored ache for the day.

I have back issues as well
I use a small utility trailer
But I don’t ’need’ a truck

Went from a Ranger to the Bronco, don’t miss the Ranger, if it’s to big to fit in the back of the 2dr I just use my utility trailer.

A Bronco is no substitute for a truck.
A Bronco's interior room is nothing like the seating of a full size truck.
Pulling a trailer around a city for a day sucks, if you live in a city and only use it for brief runs, no problem.

I went from a regular cab ram to a 4 door bronco and for everyday stuff it's great. We still have a crew cab F150 and yah bronco is way to small inside. Upcoming road trip will be in the f150 due to space. 4 adults is to much for any length of time.
