Tow Module retrofit and longer receiver mounted

My 2024 Big Bend 2 door was not ordered with a tow package. I needed the factory tow module for trailer lighting and wanted an extended receiver, to allow clearance for a folding bike rack behind spare tire.

TOW MODULE INSTALL: I found a used module on Ebay for $120. The factory wiring harness with three connectors, is located behind drivers side rear trim panel. I was able to access install position by opening panel from the rear, without having to fully remove the panel. Bracing plastic panel partially open with scrap foam bits. DISCONNECTED the battery, plugged in three connectors. Body studs that hold the module are 7.2mm and I couldn't source correct nuts, so I mounted module with RTV silicone blobs to trap it. Connected battery and verified function of trailer lights (Note: The used module had been activated on the previous vehicle, so I didn't need to pay a dealer to program it ;>)

EXTENDED RECEIVER: Easy four bolt install. Loosen rear plastic bumper. De-mount the short steel channel under frame, which is holding the USCAR connector. Extended heavy duty receiver is a Draw-Tite 76527.

Had to check... Some have really long hitch extensions, that make me wince just looking at it. Just a step away from a bruised shin. That would invariably still happen to me with this one when the rear door is open.
