Toplift. Pro tip Keep an eye on FB marketplace and pick one up used. If you are patient you can get one for $500-600. People list them thinking they can get top dollar but don’t. Don’t be afraid to make an offer. Another plus is already assembled. Most look brand new. Good luck.

I went with the Lange earlier this year. Post linked here, my photos start page 8 (but many more from others too). I'm happy with it, but I don't use it but twice a year. One to take off the ST for the HT (fall) and vice-versa (spring). I trust it enough to have it hanging over my wife's overly-complicated German wallet-hemroid....aka.. Mercedes GLS.

Appreciate the suggestion. Interested in being able to take HT and middle off at same time. Do you have to take middle top off to get 2 bolts out for the rear HT? How far from the ceiling is it when lifted? On website it says some can get it to sit above the garage door so curious if I have enough ceiling height or not.

Hi. Yes you do need to remove the rear shell bolts before lifting the top off. I take off the front two panels first and slide the middle panel forwards a little bit. I use a cordless drill to get bolts in and out quickly. Obviously the drill requires some basic common sense to not screw up anything.

Once the top is off I have a lot of space but that's because I actually had some space issue with the depth of the garage door. The front edge of the roof was coming in contact with the garage door opener. The good thing for me is that the top only needs to be lifted about 5 inches to come off. I opted to have the top lift off not so high to avoid moving the entire setup back two inches.

Space comes at a premium in my garage. So I’m going with ceiling hoist

I bought a top lift pro v2 for $600, lightly used. First time taking the top off, I was so surprised how easy it was. Of course, there was some trepidation, but the thing is solid. Only downside for me is in order to use the electric lift, I have to use an extension cord, for now. It does have a spot for a motorcycle battery that ill get at some point.

Putting the top on was actually fun and enjoyable. Watching those pins insert and seeing the top settle was very satisfying to me.

I do TLP also. Bought new but the advantage of bypassing assembly with buying used is real. The sucker was a pain to put together but works seamlessly.

Hello! New 2dr Heritage Edition owner here...I see an electric TLP pro on marketplace here in CLT for $1000 (im sure I could talk them down) or just I be leaning toward the Pro V2 because of the modifications they made to help with 2DR. From what I have read on there the older PRO could do it but might take a few extra steps vs V2.....Thanks for your help, so much good info here!

I haven’t installed it yet but got a ceiling joist from Tie Boss for Christmas I’m looking forward to using. We have them for our kayaks too and I love that none of it takes any floor space in the garage.
