Looking for a solution to remove my 4 door hard top when I don't have any help and have to remove it by myself. Looking for opinions/experience for "Toplift" type of solution vs. "Smarter Home" type of ceiling mount. I have 10' garage ceiling so have enough room for ceiling mount but could see top lift might be easier/faster to use. Also would like to hear if there is a specific brand/model you like/dislike.

I picked up a toplift pro V2. My feedback, get the Rockworkx replacement screws, the toplift pro is harder to put together than to use. It's been rock solid for me, off in about 10 min, on in about 13-15. Hardest part for me is backing into the garage to take it off and on cause my drive way is slanted.

I have the Harken Hoist for Bronco/Jeep tops. It works flawlessly and I use it to remove and re-install the top on my own. I have a pretty small garage, so I have one part of the ceiling for storage and the other part of the ceiling for the Bronco top. I back in, bring down the hoist, loosen the hardware and lift. The 6:1 pulley ratio means it's incredibly easy to lift with one hand. When re-installing, I just use one hand to lower it, and a second hand to guide the top into the exact correct position. Too simple.

I've attached a picture.

I concur with @AzGrayHeritage. I've had a Toplift Pro since I got my Bronco and also added the Rockworx bolts. Super easy off and on. I just roll the top to the front of the garage when it's off.

I think it comes down to how much room you have. The Toplift is super simple and fast to use. Regardless of removal method,, taking out the bolts is the time consuming part, even with the quick release screws. Lifiting the top off is super fast and easy with the Toplift....no brackets or hoisting or really thinking about it much.

I have a large shop so storing the top on the Toplift is no issue at all since I can just roll it out of the way if need be, but if space is tight it might be an issue. Say its pouring rain or blowing snow out and you want to remove the top and work on your truck without moving it outside, if space is tight in the garage then a ceiling hoist is the way to go in my opinion.

Love my Toplift. And the Rockworks roof screw/bolt kits.

I have a Roll-n-jack. It works great. You can only get them from Amazon now, as far as I know

I got everything from Harbor freight...well except the boards and square channel to support the winch along with the 4 inch bathroom toilet flange I used for the ceiling guide.. Works Great with the remote and i can do everything by myself. I like that it doesn't take any room up in my garage...just a thought...Amos

I have used both methods. The Top lift advantage is it can be removed and installed by my senior citizen self without issue. The ceiling hung electric hoist with straps advantage is less expensive and leaves garage space available..

I got a roll n jack. Floor based crank lift. Love it. Got a Milwaukee torque wrench. Easy bolt unbolt.

I have both but I find myself almost always using the Toplift Pro. It is so easy to just wheel the top away and I can still nose my wife's car into the garage with the top over her hood.

I would for sure use the ceiling lift if I had the room for it. TopLift is GREAT if you don't have the ceiling room, but the TopLift + Roof itself takes up a lot of space in my garage.
