Sometimes I think learning tire load limits and speed ratings should be part of getting your drivers license....
So should common sense but we don’t require that either apparently.

LOL I mean it's funny in my head at least. 18mpg at 60mph. 5mpg at 90. 1mpg at 101. Then *poof*... vapor
Sounds like Doc Brown trying to use a Bronco for time travel.

Blow a 35" tire at those speeds....

This is totally in line with my experience. My police interceptor shut down at 132 and would drop you to 128 before picking up again. Yes, I was responding to an assist call in the next town about 9 miles away. Ended up a happy ending, bad guy locked up, officer safe. On the way back, noticed a herd of deer in the median. Could have had a different outcome...

Only works if you get diesel put in it like that poor guy in the other thread though.

I'm sure 82 - 87 is plenty fast enough for most speed racers in a hurry going over the road through the desert highways .

I was jamming on the turnpike over the weekend and my 2 door 2.7 wouldn’t go over 107 mph. I don’t need to go any faster. I was just wondering if anyone else got it over that?
Are you sure you were going 107? If you want to be sure, there are courtesy cars on the side of the highway that will let you know exactly how fast you were going. They will signal you with lights and noise when you reach the high score, and if you pull over and stop the driver of said car will give you a printout of your speed. Of course, this service does come with a fee of a couple hundred bucks, but then you'll know for sure ;)

Who were you running from doing 107mph on public road in a Bronco? Whoever it was must have been pissed!

fastest I ever went was 140 on the Autobahn, you feel the physics involved and you know that if anyone in front of you has a blow out or just doesn't pay attention you're dead. It's really not much fun on a public road unless it's all empty and you can speed down the middle lane. Speeds like that are for the track.
I'd never dream of reaching that speed in my Bronco though, track or Autobahn. No thanks. Fiery crash is not what I'd pick from 100 ways to die, LOL.

I would be happy with a 75 mph limit. Why would anyone ever need to go over that in any vehicle, let alone an off-road designed SUV. Seriously?
