There would be even more issues if you had several companies making hard tops. This one is too dark, this one is too light, this one is too thick, this one is too thin, this one is too long, this one is too short. It would be a nightmare.
I once worked on the same part for two different companies. I was the main fabricator at one company ( my fixture designs and processes) and just a welder for the other company. Contract was split that way to speed up delivery by the prime contractor. In the end, although both parts worked, they looked quite different and had to be assembled a bit differently.

Obviously mine were the better parts, or at least I thought so. 🙂

With all the issues and delays I am sure I wouldn't want one of the first ones made. The problemd they are having with parts supply is really a problem. I am getting tired of waiting. At this point is there any possibility that Bronco will be put on hold for a long time?

This has become boring and depressing. :( I feel like we have been stuck in neutral if not reverse for the past six months. If Webasto and whoever else can’t get the job done in a reasonable amount of time which they obviously haven’t been able to do so far then Ford needs to kick them to the curb and find somebody who can.
Agreed.

But you should cancel your order.

I don’t think Ford is too worried about this. I’d rather wait another YEAR to get a hard top Bronco that I don’t have to worry about leaks and rattles.

If anything i’m worried that they might put out hard tops that are “good enough” to get past the warranty and that’s it. If they need time to get it right.... give em time.
If they're not worried they should be. There have been people on here (who I'd consider some of the more hard-core Bronco fans) who have already purchased something else. I'm holding out for another week / end of month... if no VIN or reasonable estimate shows up I'll get something else because I can't / won't wait until next year, and it won't be a Ford (a first for me).

I think ford should worry about this. I am guessing the average person that reserved a bronco are not like us and would not be willing to wait another 6 months to a year considering they have already been waiting a long time.

I read them...tell me the part where they said there were delays due to MIC tops?

I get that it is popular to feel angst about this process, it seems mostly undeserved, IMO.

It will be interesting to revisit this in late summer. Was Chicken Little right, and the sky was falling, or are am I a sucker for not sweating the process?

I do know, me being upset wont make anybody move any faster. I'm good regardless.

I do have a CyberTruck reserved.

**runs and hides**
Hide? I found you!

Another emo-thread? Come on man, not from you, you're the comedian of Bronco6G. :)

You don't want that CyberTruck either. You already went on and on about how much you didn't like that new Blade Runner.

It's Saturday and getting warm, so you want your rig to go muddin', so do I, but this summer will be a wash for everyone from how things look.

I'm a worst case thinker anyway, so I resolved myself to next Spring when I'm likely to get my rig. Think I'll hold out and not move to that Defender 90, but boy is that thing starting to look better and better every day.......

As long as Ford stock continues to have days like Friday(+6.8%)nothing else matters. This is twice now the reservation system has paid off in a higher share price for Ford. Time will tell if it actually converts to cash or ends up a house of cards. You have deliver on all the hype at some point.
Couldn't agree more! I bought my 100 shares last year because my dealer committed to honoring X-plan on my First Edition. I got it for $4.64 a share. I'm definitely not going to complain when it's now trading at $13.33. It gets here when it gets here. Then maybe I sell the shares and use the profit on accessories. I guess the bonus is it will be Long Term Capital Gains.

To cut through the bullshit, and summarize what is happening

Lack of MIC tops and Ford attempting to still fill all FEs in 2021, and there’s no telling what’s left for everyone else. For those without an FE but with a MIC top - the way the system is setup (paired with MIC shortage) has created a dynamic that its a race to get picked before you fall off your dealers allocation list for 2021

Maybe a Day 1 allocation loaded sas MIC stillhangs on towards the end of the year. Or a Day 3 reservation that’s a simpler build with a MIC

My day 1 loaded sas MIC of absolutely no surprise has naturally moved to the #1 allocation. And that’s only because builds in front of me (and behind me) were picked. I plan on staying there for awhile while the dealer has simpler orders pulled. Any other early reservation holders here will likely find themselves close to or at the number #1 spot as well. Then it becomes a question of do I get picked before the allocations run out. Don’t forget. Dealers have 4x the number of orders to allocations. So you have to think of all later simpler orders ford can choose from as well

Here’s what it could look like for an early loaded build

March - #10 allocation spot of 50 allocations. 200 orders to choose from
April - #5 allocation. 10 builds picked (5 in front of you, 5 behind you). 40 allocations left. 190 orders left
May - #1 allocation. 10 builds picked (5 in front, 5 behind). 30 allocations left. 180 orders left
June - Still #1 allocation. 10 builds picked - all simpler builds or soft tops behind you. 20 allocations left. 170 orders left
July -...and well, you get the idea...this continues until you get the green light that the factory has a MIC top for you, as well as the Sasquatch package etc. And it’s a race until the dealer runs out of allocations for 2021

the worst scenario is you have a loaded sas mic, and the dealer has 5 builds just like yours, and they are allocations 1-5 and you’re stuck at the 6 spot.
