When my son started school. I told him when the teacher asks you how many fingers you have tell them 8. You have 4 fingers and a thumb on each hand. My wife gave me shit and told me when the teacher calls I can explain that one. Well, my son went to school and told his teacher what I said and she told him "your father is correct, but for our purposes here we are using 5 fingers".
