Thanks for this. I love the simplicity here. Any flex/wobble on the bar when the lights are mounted? Looks solid but it only being held in with two bolts has me wondering.
You can kinda see in this pic the rivnut ring resting between the bar and bumper(red) making the yellow part not flush with bumper, it hovers a little

That is what creates flex, not the bar itself.

I could slip a stainless washer under the yellow i guess for more support, but i probably won't for my needs

only 2 bolts holding it down. There are 2 bolts to either end not being used. I wish it was at least 4 bolts holding it down

@Lifeliberty thanks for all your info on this, I just ordered one. A few questions please? I’m enamored with those yellow Ford light covers! Are they vintage or available to buy somewhere? What lights are those you used? Kinda look like some affordable Hella spotlights I found on Amazon. Lastly, can you tell me how you wired them? I believe there is a purple wire run to the front grill area with the factory auxiliary switches option? Thanks very much for your time!

Vintage vinyl 5" covers from ebay.

Lights are from DV8. They were like $10 each. But i don't think they sell them anymore.

I didn't use the purple wire. I couldn't find the other end of it. I just wired the lights directly to the upfitter wire by the firewall, and grounded it above the driver wheel well next to the battery

Hope this helps

Any thoughts on security bolts for this bracket to the mod bumper so thiefs cant just easily remove it along with your lights

Around here they will break your window to loot your ride, cut off your catalytic converter, and maybe try to steal your spare... i don't worry much about the light bar. I park in a garage not the street.

No one has even tried to steal my light covers yet

You can install security bolts if it makes you feel better, keeps honest people honest, but not a deterrent to the determined

looks great! how much room do you have behind mounted lights before they touch? can you take a pic?
All lights are different. I'd say this mount places the center bolt for your light bracket on the leading edge of the bumper. I could look again, but it is still winter...

Update, about a year later I installed a Turn bull bar that now sits on the bumper. And the tc light bar sits on the bull bar. Now it no longer sits on the rivnuts(which was never an issue for me) but it is VERY solid now.

if you want to mount something super solid to the bumper you need to account for the rivnut ledge.

But anyway, the update is that it all works very well and I would purchase the lightbar again
