I bought the Warhorse limiter. It uses the factory strut. It just relocates the mounting point on the tailgate.

I've been happy with the M2M brace. It also uses factory strut.

But I am on my third strut...

I never could find replacement ends for the strut - mine the one on the Bronco side keeps wearing out then it starts popping off. My first one went before I got the brace, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

The plastic piece on the end of my Warhorse limiter seems to have chipped a little chunk off the inside and will no longer stay attatched to the ball mount. Warhorse does not seem to be around anymore. Is this a piece I can buy elsewhere and swap?

No one has been able to find replacement ends yet. You have to buy a new strut https://www.varsityfordparts.com/oem-parts/ford-assist-support-m2dz78406a10a?origin=pla

I was able to fix mine by removing the metal spring inside the end piece, using pliers to pinch it for more tension, and putting it back together. Hasn't popped off since. Been at least a year

thanks. Tried squeezing the clip more than once.
can somebody confirm if the female side mounted to strut is perfectly spherical? Mine definitely appers not to be anymore.

Mine wore out and looked like that. Squeezing helped at first but didn’t last

It’s fun when it lets loose while you are parked on a hill
